Profile Information

Tell us of your likes and dislikes. Music? Tv/Movies? Books? What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like lots of different types of music, including celtic, viking, gypsy, native american, blues, jazz, folk, alternative, rock, country, etc. Movies I don't get to very often. Books are mostly about herbal healing and energy working.
Spending time with our children, family, and friends, going to Pagan events, Pow wows, Ren. Faires, Air shows, coffee house at open mic., concerts, making crafts, writing, reading, etc.
Are you currently living what may be considered an alternative lifestyle? For example, are you a traveling artist, practicing a non-mainstream spirituality, or part of a BDFSM lifestyle?
Yes, practicing a non-mainstream spiritual and life path.
What does the older knowledge of legend, myth, lore, story, tale, wisdoms mean to you?
It is part of our lives and our very being. It is what makes us who we are and gives us abilities that we are unaware of, until given the chance or put to the test of our abilities.
Do you belong to any organizations; re-enactment based (i.e. households, tribes, clans), spiritual based (i.e. covens, orders, or other pagan groups) or other? If so which ones and where?
Sanctuary of the Stones
Pagans of West Michigan
Pagan Families and Friends
Ravensbeak Household
If not of the older life styles, how tolerant are you ?
I am tolerant until harm is done.
I am tolerant of youth, but not purposeful stupidity.
I am tolerant of differences until inflicted on an unwilling person.
I am tolerant, but watchful.
Have you ever been to a Renaissance Faire or Medieval Fest? If so, which did you prefer? If not, which would you rather attend? Would you rather be a participant or spectator? Please relate to us your experience!
Both have excellent qualities in different ways and both should be experienced with an open mind. I can not say that one is better than the other, but both are great for the learning experience, and no two are exactly alike. Being a spectator who participates is much easier than being a participant who is a spectator.
Do you have any artistry, crafting, and trade… what do you create, Please share your talents with us.
A little bit of lots of things; sewing, crocheting, baking/cooking, herbal healing remedies, flower rings and dried flower arrangements, some jewelry assembly, etc. (time permitting)
What is the best way to contact you if your talents are skills are desired?
Sanctuary of the Stones office or message my husband, Thorin the Skald (a.k.a. Lowell Godfrey), since he is online more than I.
Please answer all questions honestly and openly so staff and members can get to know you. Approval of your application will be based upon your answers. Any thing else you would like to tell people?
I am married with six children, although none of them live with us, our weekends are filled with visitation schedules. I am on the council of Sanctuary of the Stones. I and my husband live and care for my mother in law. I attend as many events as our schedule allows, sometimes with our children. I work at a group home for people who are severely disabled. I attend rituals on all major Pagan holidays. I do what is in my ability to help friends.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
