A spell to silence gossip mongers

If you feel that you are the subject of spiteful gossip, this should stop tongue wagging. As well as the things listed as needed, you will also have to have access to a holly bush as you are going to seek the protection it offers. The spell should be cast on a Tuesday when the moon is waning.

Needed:

A red taper candle
A red pen
A very small square of paper
A snapdragon stem
A thorn
Some red ribbon

Facing south, light the red candle, seeing in its flame the face or faces of those who are the source of the gossip. Write their names on paper with a red pen.

If you are unsure of who it is, simply write:

"Whom so ever you may be!"

Fold the paper into a tiny scroll.

Carefully pluck the largest flower from the snapdragon and very gently open it out.

Roll it round the scroll, repeating these words 5 times:

"Let your tongue speak goodness,
Let your thoughts be kind,
Consider your own faults,
I know mine.
And it harm none, so be it!"

Use the thorn to keep the scroll in place and as you pierce the flower say:

"Protect me as their lips do part,
Words not spoken from the heart.
And it harm none, so be it!"

Healing spell
Healing takes many forms and applies itself to many purposes, but be clear that healing magic is not about curing terminal diseases or performing miracles; remember we are working with the flow, not against it.

If those suffering with terminal or chronic illnesses feel that they will benefit from having strength, calm and tranquillity sent to them, then this is the healing we can send. Sometimes spells do have remarkable results, but the truth is that we cannot change some things; but if we can offer other things that are needed, then we do.

Timing: As this spell is for healing, work it on a waxing/full moon. Sunday ruled by the sun, is auspicious but give priority to the moon phase.

Preparation: Prior to casting this spell, try to identify exactly what is needed. Pinpoint it to its simplest expression so that you can concentrate on the core issue and focus the energy where its needed most.

You'll need:

Blue candle
Matches
Fine paintbrush
Small square of plain paper
Dot of red watercolour paint
Small bowl of water

Casting:

Light the candle, saying:

"Welcome element of water, patron of healing and cleansing, witness and empower the changes I weave in your name."

Paint a red X on the centre of the paper, saying:

"I name thee [name's] pain/fear/anxiety."

Hold the paper before you in both hands and focus on the X. Imagine the supplicant's problem encapsulated inside the symbol.

Place the paper in the bowl of water and move it around so that the paint disperses in the water and chant:

"I wash away this pain's offence, be ye gone and get ye hence!"

When the X is a pale smudge, remove the paper, crumple it up and throw it away.

Pour the water into the earth immediately after the circle, saying:

"So Mote It Be!"

Spell for a Lost Soul

This is a rhyme for communication with your self. It is intended to break down roadblocks in the process of looking within.

Crone of night, in thy abode,
Touch the spirit grown cold.
Hear my prayer, hear my plea,
Send my spirit back to me.
Help me see where I've gone wrong,
Make me wise and make me strong.
Give me wisdom, give me strength,
Lend your powers to me at length.
Blessed be!

Spell For Yule

To ensure prosperity in the coming year!

The tradition of the Yule log dates back to Pagan times in northern Europe and is believed to be associated with the nature based religions that existed for millennia before the coming of Christianity. Our ancestors held that all things contained the life force and that the trees, in particular were the abode of spirit people, gods and goddesses. Certain trees, therefore, were regarded as especially sacred, and if felled to build a special fire-at Yule for example, the ash was thought to be particularly powerful.

You need:

An open fireplace or outdoor bonfire
One section of any branch, complete with bark
One sharp knife
6 dried holly leaves
One green candle

Cast at Yule. The night before your Yule celebrations, make a roaring fire in your fireplace or with an outdoor bonfire. With the knife carve into the side of your Yule log the word "plenty". Place the log on the fire, and crumble the dried holly leaves over it. When it is reduced to ash, remove it from the fire.

As part of your Yule celebrations, and in a properly cast circle, work as follows:

Carve your first name along side the green candle, and light it saying:

"You are named for me,
That blessed you be!"

Sprinkle half the ash in a circle around the circle, saying:

"Though storms come,
None shall remove you!"

Keep at least a pinch of the ash to place into next years Yule fire, place the rest on your doorstep, to ensure prosperity finds you in the coming year.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
