ZODIACAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR TODAY

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): You throw yourself into work today. Expect the unexpected, however. You must deal with many unusual -- even unique -- events that general policies don't cover. You definitely earn your pay today!

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): For some, romance is the center of strong feelings of love -- or, perhaps, hatred. There is no middle ground; everything is extreme. How you handle money must be done carefully.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): Events today demonstrate how dependent you are for making income. You must start thinking of ways you can get control and make decisions. You are at others' whims to an unacceptable extent.

The Creator gave us all the Red Road and on this Red Road we are required to think and act in a spiritual way. To make sure I conduct myself according to the Red Road, I must make sure I develop my self discipline. Self control works best when we pray for the courage and power to do the will of the Great Spirit. We are here on the earth to do the will of the Great Spirit. Sometimes, we must battle ourselves to do this.

Great Spirit, help me to have my self- control guided by spiritual ways

ZODIACAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR TODAY

ARIES (March 21-April 19): Simmering problems come out in the open. Your task is to work them out instead of dwelling on blame. It's very important to keep pushing toward resolution so bad feelings are neutralized.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): The time is ripe for an enterprising move. It's a mistake to seek approval from those who are more timid or less invested. As long as confidence comes from thorough research, give yourself permission.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20): There are problems with ambitious plans today. There can be competition or controversy in a club off an organization. Issues must be clarified so that people can discuss them intelligently -- and you insist that they do so.

CANCER (June 21-July 22): You're prone to emphasize your job and neglect your home. You must work extra hard at being good at your familial role and duties. You're too enamored of the idea of worldly success.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): You jump to conclusions based on faulty or insufficient facts. Slogging through research data seems too hard and definitely non-sexy! But if you can't be bothered with the facts, don't try to bother people with your conclusions.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): You're prone to excessive self confidence today. You're challenged to solicit and listen to contrary advice, without argumentation. There is still much you need to learn before you act.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Events make you feel inferior to others now. You're subject to flashes of anger as you feel constantly edged out or ignored. You must work on your self-image and your pool of talents.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): You can be an excellent motivational speaker today. You're tuned in to what people want; you simply have to encourage them. You can persuade doubters, tip the scales for those in the balance.

At an Elders gathering, held in July 1991, we were told the Indian woman would play an instrumental part in leading the healing of Indian nations. The old people said we were to look up to her in a sacred manner. They said the Earth Mother would give the woman special gifts of love. The woman and the Earth Mother are connected in a special way. Women should pay attention to the lessons coming from the earth. Men should treat the women with respect, dignity and honor.

Grandfather, Grandmother, give the Indian woman Your strength to heal our earth.

CANCER (June 21-July 22): You have a strong sense of justice but this makes compromise difficult, even when appropriate. You're apt to see a quid pro quo as a bribe, which offends your sensibilities. You need to be able to discern the difference.

Valentine’s Day - a yearly Raganarok for roses and other flowers!

These flowers are glacier lillies, by the way, but I can imagine some flower fiend picking them and selling them as Viking Roses. I’m spared buying slaughtered flowers for my wife today since I created this comic. She loves comics with the “angry little flower”, so I get a pass on the real thing. I’m still on for cooking dinner tonight, though. Linguine and scallops are on the menu. If the food is good enough, maybe I can talk her into watching Valhalla Rising while we eat.

The most important talk we can do during any day, is to start the day with prayer and meditation. We need to ask the Creator to be in our lives. We ask Him to direct our thinking. We ask Him for the courage and the power to be gentle. In the morning quiet time, we make our request for guidance using our spiritual tools. We pray for the people and we pray for ourselves. In the evening we thank the Creator for the day, for the lessons and for the opportunity to be of service to others. Then we go to sleep.

Great Spirit, today, show me the power of being gentle
