It is the time of year that the weather is starting to cool off and nature prepares herself for the approaching cold of wintery nights. A time when we begin to appreciate the small things in life. The changing of the leaves, one last afternoon of warmth, the smell of cinnamon and apples as people make pies after the harvest. Soon, Persephone shall once more join with Hades and we in the world will know that, as the snow falls, their passions are blazing forth. It is a time for reflection and quiet for those not of the Underworld. So in the spirit of such a magical time of year, here you go my dear friend, have some tea on me and enjoy the small things we are given in this blessed time of year.

Thank you for all the lovely flower pictures my friend. :-) I noticed your status message and I am sorry to hear that you are having a rough time. It seems so many of us are these days...

One thing we must always remember is to never lose hope! There will always be a day better then today laying in wait for us, hidden somewhere within our future. The trick is to hang on until that day comes and to make the most of the days we have until then. I do hope things turn around for you soon and that, even in difficult times, you can see with eyes that appreciate the beauty of the little things that can never be taken from us. Be well my dear friend and may all that you hold close to your heart remain healthy, happy and safe from harm's way.

placed small blog up last sunday. in my own words, not cut and paste, therefore was short and to the point, references used were listed. no feedback. removed post 5 days later. --learned much of what i already knew, found Celtic more insightful than any other. --could not decipher Vedic or Aztec/Mayan. have not been idle, have been busy/stressed(angry): job hours cut, (need to keep food on table,) made rounds at unemployment and hopefully new job efforts will pan out.

I thought I would bring you some humor and some animal cuteness. Hope you've been well my dear friend. I'm just now starting to get over a pretty bad cold so I've been scarce lately. But I am working my way back. Anyhoo...hope you enjoy the pictures. Be well.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
