Friday, April 29, Saturday April 30, and Sunday May 1, 2011

Admission: $75.00 per adult
Children will be admitted at no charge, we have no activities planned for kids.

3 Days of fun, camping and festivities!
Pre-register to obtain your campsite, Campsites ARE LIMITED!

Day Trips are as follows:
$20.00 Friday April 29 - 10:00am-Midnight
$25.00 Saturday April 30 - 9:00am - Midnight
$15.00 Sunday May 1 - 9:00am - 3:00pm

Come on out and celebrate Beltane with your Tribe!
There will be Ritual, music, entertainment, games, Maypole/Maypole Dance, May King/Queen Election and Coronation, Merchants and MUCH MORE!

To ensure our compliance with The Mariners' Museum Park policies, as well as rules and regulations of The 2011 May Moon Beltane Festival (MMBF) , we require that all vendors, attendees, visitors and staff adhere to all policies below.

This assures that we will live within the laws and coexist in peace, harmony, civility and safety.
NON-COMPLIANCE TO THESE RULES AND POLICIES MAY RESULT IN EXPULSION FROM THE FESTIVAL WITH NO REFUND.

Minors must be supervised by their parent/guardian AT ALL TIMES and are not permitted at the Fire Circle after 11:00pm.

There will be a food vendor on site. You are permitted to bring your own coolers, food and drinks.

There is no electricity and there are no showers at the park. There is a water faucet near the pavilion. Bring your own chairs as seating at the pavilion is limited.

Our Fire/Drum Circle is sacred space! All drummers, dancers and attendees should know the rules of etiquette at the fire circle and conduct themselves accordingly. If you are unsure of anything, feel free to ask someone or read the note regarding Drum/Fire Circle Etiquette.

NO PETS are permitted at The May Moon Beltane Festival, Except licensed service animals.

If you have any particular needs or special requirements due to disabilities, please contact any MMBF staff member so we can do our best to accommodate and assist you. There will be handicapped toilet facilities.

All campers and vehicles MUST be moved to designated parking lot after unloading, unless you will be camping in the vehicle and it will not be moved until you are leaving at the end of the festival.

Noise curfew is 12 a.m. until 8 a.m. and is in place to be respectful and considerate of residents nearby, as well as MMBF attendees .No drumming, loud music or disruptive activities in the camping area. MMBF staff and park security will determine any situations concerning noise and have final say.

Clothing IS REQUIRED and must be legal in public.

The gate is locked at midnight and non-campers must leave by that time. Any day-trippers in the park after that time will be required to pay the fee for a full weekend of camping ($75) .

No littering will be permitted AT ALL—including the dropping of cigarette butts. Trash receptacles and butt cans are provided. Littering goes against everything we believe in as Tribes of the Earth.

We expect everyone at this event to be respectful to all life—plant, animal and human.

No firearms or weapons are permitted in the park or at MMBF with the exception of costume or peace-bound blades. Compliance to the law is the wearer's sole responsibility.

There will be absolutely NO drugs or illegal substances at MMBF or anywhere in the park. Violators will be arrested!

Open consumption and/or containers of alcohol are NOT permitted! Drunken and disorderly behavior will be grounds for expulsion from the event.

Campsites are to be kept free of trash/clutter. Small personal campfires are permitted in small containers, such as portable pits and grills. All fires in campsites are your responsibility. Museum and MMBF staff have final authority for approval of personal fires.

All attendees MUST be registered and wear festival wristband for the duration of the event.

No swimming, fishing, boating or wading in any of the water anywhere in the park at any time.

There is no rain date and refunds will not be issued for weather.
We will have a limited supply of festival t-shirts for sale at the Mystic Moon Center in merchants circle.

Directions: Directions to The Mariner's Museum Park:
Take I64 from the East or West.
Exit off J. Clyde Morris Blvd. SOUTH.
Take J. Clyde to Warwick Ave. TURN LEFT on Warwick.
DO NOT go into THE MUSEUM PROPER!.
We are EAST of Warwick Blvd at Williams Field.
To Williams Field:
Go 1/4 mile or so eastbound on Warwick, until you see Warwick High School.
The entrance to turn in a DIRECTLY ACROSS from Warwick High School. This street is Copeland.
Follow the little road to the left through the gate until the last road on the right.
Turn right, you'll see us!

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

 

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

 

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
