What can I say about the Irish people they have a very good sense of humor, a zest for life, caring, and a strong bond with their families, and yes a love to drink that Beer!

But most of all I have been so fortunate in my life, I married a Irishman and The Irish Page is dedicated to Terry and his Irish ways!   He is funny, witty, caring, sexy and yes you do spoil me so!  Terry you are my heart, soul, my being, and swear to god if I go before you, I will forever be a restless spirit, haunting you until we meet again.

Irish Verses

May you be in Heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're gone. There are many good reasons for drinking, and one has just entered my head.
If a man can't drink when he's living, then how can he drink when he's dead? May the hand of a friend always be near you; may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the Lord cradle you in the palm of his hand.
May you live as long as you want and never want as long as you live.
There was never a shabby sheep in the flock that didn't like to have a comrade.
Never make a toil of pleasure said the man when he dug his wife's grave only three feet deep.
An Irishman is never drunk as long as he can hold on to a single blade of grass, and not fall off the face of the Earth.

Irish Music - One thing Terry and I have in common is we both enjoy Clannad and Enya, they are unique in their music, mellow, poetic, haunting and sometimes sung in Gaelic. Most of you have heard just a bit of their music in movies, i.e. Last of the Mohicans or a VW Car Commercial on T.V.

U2 is a great modern Irish band we have every album they have released.  Along with the Cranberries and Loreena McKennitt.

I found a wonderful site called the "Irish Music Box"  a excellent resource for music and information on Clannad, Enya, U2, The Cranberries, and other Irish bands, so please visit it and hear a some of their music and read the Lyrics they are truly good.

Get the latest news in Ireland at The Irish Time on the web.

I must not forget the Beer, check out Guinness' web site it's fun, filled with beer history, and games you can play while your there. Virtual beer anyone?

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
