How much Oil to use:

The balance needed of essential oil to carrier oil depends on

whether the blend is for beauty use, or for wellbeing, or for a specific

condition. As a guide, for beauty and wellbeing you use less essential

oil than for acute and chronic healthcare.

·                     for self-help use, beauty and wellbeing use 3 drops of

·                     essential oil for each 10ml carrier oil

·                     for first aid, and healthcare, use 3-5 drops of essential

·                     oil for each 10ml carrier oil

ALLERGY CHECK:

If you have an allergy to nuts, choose a seedbased oil. If you have

an allergy to wheat, avoid using wheatgerm oil. If you have an allergy

to a vegetable which produces an oil, such as avocado, avoid the

relevant oil.

Advocado Oil

The Advocado oil comes in refined and unrefined forms. The refined is

odourles, pale to slight greenish yellow. The unrefined is dark green

and is best used in combination with another carrier oil. The unrefined

has a shorter shelf life than the refined and can only be stored upto four

months. It can be used for a dry and dehydrated skin.

Jojoba Oil

The Jojoba oil has a light smell, is pale to golden yellow to pale orange in

colour. It is a waxy oil and can be stored for a long period. It is useful on all

skin types, including inflamed, red, dry or older skins. Also eczema, psoriasis

and acne.

Apricot Kernel Oil:

The Apricot Kernel Oil is Odourless, and pale to

yellow in colour.

It can be used for all skin types, especially elderly,

inflamed and dry skin. Its very good for facial

care because it is very light and well absorbed.

Wheatgerm Oil:

The wheatgerm oil has a strong odour, unless it

has been refined, and can adversely alter the

smell of any recipe. It is yellow to orange in colour.

Wheatgerm Oil is a very heavy oil, always used as

an addition to another carrier oil, never on its own.

Can be used for the prematurely aged skin,

 eczema and psoriasis

Childeren: Do Not Use on childeren.

Alternatively you can buy unperfumed lotions

or bath products from chemists or health stores

and add your essential oils to these instead.

Storing your Oils:

Storage of your oils is important to take the following

into consideration. As well as quickly evaporating,

pure essential oils are easily damaged by light,

extremes of temperature and exposure to oxygen.

For this reason you will find the essentials oil in

well-stoppered, dark glass bottles. A bottle should

also contain a dropper cap, so you can count

your drops without wastage.

Store in a cool, dry, dark place is important.

The average shelf life in ideal conditions for pure

essential oils is about two years. Except for Bergamot,

coldpressed citrus oils, they deteriorate within

6-12 months, but keep in mind that all oils are

vunerable. Through usage, by opening the bottle

frequently the chance of oxidation does exist.

It becomes cloudy and will cause skin irritation.

You can however prolong the life of the essential

oils by adding 2 vitamin E capsules to every

30ml of home made massage oil to help extend the

shelf life. Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
