Jet Needs a Home!

I admit it — I’ve fallen madly in love with Agate (now Emily), and she’ll be staying here. STOP LAUGHING. But Jet still needs a home, because holy crap, I don’t need two of Loiosh.

I found a place nearby that has a fund to cover getting pets spayed and neutered for cheap, so good news — he’ll be fixed before he goes to his Forever Home! I’m still hoping to raise some money to cover his shots, so if you can’t take him but want to help, I sure wouldn’t…

Announcing Om Shanti Naturals!

I'm sure a lot of you have already seen the new site -- I've hardly been keeping it secret since I launched it last Thursday! But for those of you who haven't, well, here it is, and do please take a moment to look around. Because oh, my beloveds, it is truly a thing of wonder and beauty.

Check out the logo at the top. It's new. Isn't it gorgeous?

Hover over it. See how the leaves change colour? Yeah, Dani made it do that. Not only that, but the green? Is from a photo I… Continue

Holy Crap, it's been Three Years (also, a sale.)

My Loiosh is three years old today. Can we get a rousing Happy Birthday?

He's chowing down on gooshyfood, and I'll be getting him salmon later today, too.

I'm having a one-day sale in honour of his birthday -- enter coupon code LoioshBirthday and you'll save 25% off. Just for today though!

I can't believe it's been three… Continue

Profile Information

Tell us of your likes and dislikes. Music? Tv/Movies? Books? What do you like to do in your spare time?
Read, hike, sew, drive, travel.
Are you currently living what may be considered an alternative lifestyle? For example, are you a traveling artist, practicing a non-mainstream spirituality, or part of a BDFSM lifestyle?
I'm not travelling full-time -- _yet_ -- but I hope to be on the road within the next couple of years.
What does the older knowledge of legend, myth, lore, story, tale, wisdoms mean to you?
There's a rich store of knowledge and wisdom, both, that is unfortunately mostly ignored or discounted these days. People forget where we've come from.
Do you belong to any organizations; re-enactment based (i.e. households, tribes, clans), spiritual based (i.e. covens, orders, or other pagan groups) or other? If so which ones and where?
I'm associated with several SCA households and tribes, but not directly a member of any. I tend to go my own way, though there are a lot of people who I'll travel alongside of for a time.
If not of the older life styles, how tolerant are you ?
Pretty tolerant. Don't badmouth the way I do things and I won't say anything about what you're up to. Short of actual harm, but that is the rule, isn't it?
Have you ever been to a Renaissance Faire or Medieval Fest? If so, which did you prefer? If not, which would you rather attend? Would you rather be a participant or spectator? Please relate to us your experience!
I used to go to the faires, before I found the SCA. I prefer the participation of the SCA to the actor/audience dynamic of most faires.
Do you have any artistry, crafting, and trade… what do you create, Please share your talents with us.
I find inspiration in anyone who's working from their heart in what they make. I admire fearless creativity and art. Speak your truth, even if your voice trembles.

I work with scents and oils to make all-natural soaps, oils, scrubs, and salves, many with healing properties, some that just smell nice (though treating your body well is healing all by itself).
What is the best way to contact you if your talents are skills are desired?
Here works.

Please answer all questions honestly and openly so staff and members can get to know you. Approval of your application will be based upon your answers. Any thing else you would like to tell people?
A seeker and writer, an herbalist and a maker. Currently living in Worcester, PA, though I move around pretty often, and will hopefully be moving around even more within the next ear or two. Called to a life on the road.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
