Profile Information

Tell us of your likes and dislikes. Music? Tv/Movies? Books? What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like many things. Wolves and Dragons are my major thing. The wolf is my spirit guide and my dragon is my protector. I love a lot of fantasy books and movies. I am pretty much an open book and I am very up front and honest with people. Sometimes my bluntness gets me into trouble, but I am not the type of person to beat around the bush on things. In my spare time I love to spend time with my husband, communicate with my friends on Facebook or I do a lot of meditating. I am a witch and I am so interested on learning more about my craft.
Are you currently living what may be considered an alternative lifestyle? For example, are you a traveling artist, practicing a non-mainstream spirituality, or part of a BDFSM lifestyle?
I am a witch, I believe that there is more than one higher being. I am also an Empath and would love nothing more than to be able to open the other abilities which I believe was left dormant for a reason by my mother. Right now I live with my husband and mother in law so I am unable to set up my altar and practice more fully but I will hopefully be able to change this situation soon.
What does the older knowledge of legend, myth, lore, story, tale, wisdoms mean to you?
When it comes to the belief of the old pagan ways it makes more sense to me than the belief of the "Christian" ways. I have a strong belief in "mystical" creatures like dragons, fairies, Gods and Goddesses, elves, and so on. I still have a lot to learn about more of the old ways, but I am more than willing to learn as much as I can.
Do you belong to any organizations; re-enactment based (i.e. households, tribes, clans), spiritual based (i.e. covens, orders, or other pagan groups) or other? If so which ones and where?
I do not belong to a coven, I am more independent right now. I like it more that way. I do go to what they have here as a CUPPS group, which is held in a Unitarian church. I haven't been able to go lately due to the fact that at this moment my truck is broke down, but I do try my best to go when I can.
If not of the older life styles, how tolerant are you ?
My amount of tolerance is mostly based on what the subject is. I would love to learn more of the old ways though.
Have you ever been to a Renaissance Faire or Medieval Fest? If so, which did you prefer? If not, which would you rather attend? Would you rather be a participant or spectator? Please relate to us your experience!
I have been to a Pagan Pride day and loved it. I attended a 2nd annual water dragon Festival recently which is where I learned the path I must follow is in Dragon magic. I loved it alot and learned a lot also. I would love to go to some more events, and maybe, depending on what it is, participate in somethings. I am usually a spectator due to my anxiousness of being the center of attention, but am willing to try.
Do you have any artistry, crafting, and trade… what do you create, Please share your talents with us.
I can create jewelry with beads like rings, necklaces, bracelets; I can also cross stitch and a few other things. I don't have the drawing artistic ability like my mother has. I think it skipped her kids.
What is the best way to contact you if your talents are skills are desired?
Either by my email address or I do have a cell phone, but sometimes I don't answer phone numbers I don't know so usually if someone was to text me first and let me know who they are I will answer my phone. It is 319-961-0286. I normally don't give my number out, but I feel like I can trust the people in this group.
Please answer all questions honestly and openly so staff and members can get to know you. Approval of your application will be based upon your answers. Any thing else you would like to tell people?
Like I have said before I am usually an open book. My life has not been perfect and I have suffered a lot of hardships. I have had problems in the past of people accepting me for who and what I am. I suffer from mental illnesses, but I do take my meds loyally and I have better control of it than I used to. I used to believe that I had a horrid case of anxiety when I was around a lot of people like going shopping or something in that order, but have learned that because I am an Empath I feel a lot of what others are feeling or thinking and have yet to master my power wall to help lessen the impact of it all. I also have the ability to read people. I can tell pretty much right away whether I am safe or not around someone I have just met. Sometimes I feel more secure when I am isolated, but I do feel more comfortable with people who are like me and are more accepting of who I am. I would love to learn to be more sociable but I have been so solitary most my life that it does take time for me to adjust to the changes, but with understanding people I am good and adjust quickly. I have been told I have a bad habit of getting off track at times and I honestly don't know why, but I do know that my brain runs slower than my mouth does, lol. If there is anything else you want to know please feel free to ask. My facebook name is Billie Smith-Bruce if you want to contact me through there also, just message me to let me know who you are plz.

Tis good, to see others arrive here upon the Hearth Site. We have Dragon as well as Wulf lore groups. Also quite a bit of other ideas and things one can get lost within as well. Many artist/crafters represented to wish or claim their talents. May you find and add upon what is here.http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_GYjsNlk3RkM/TUZp5jyZdRI/AAAAAAAAFEc/pkywdgHnaMc/s1600/february-imbolc.jpg

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
