Once upon a time, a blue moon light night,m a cry could be heard. A child cried for all hope was gone. Confused and bewildered the child cried a wolf-life cry. Those whom she had been born to had turned their backs and gave the child up for lost. The child could feel the emotions of others and displayed what adults feared to show. On this night the child had seen the haunting eyes of amber daggers called Night Star. The pain and anguish she felt from it was startling and frightened her. She reached out to those she loved for comfort to find only cold hard stares and angry words. Though she feared the sight she was that night and the emotions it vibrated she could not hate it or show it any anger. In a child like manner she respected it and knew there must be a reason for it. She knew she did not want to be a part of it, and at the same time did not want to be it’s enemy. She sought to understand it. On this night another ancient one came to her, because he heard her cries. A beautiful and splendid dragon reached out to her and gave her the comfort no human would give her. He spoke of an ancient time before the dawn and how there is always a way to find hope when it appears all hope is gone. The silver thread shall always remain and from it hope is there beyond time and space. He showed her how to find the silver thread inside herself and how with it she could fly as a einhorn with no wings. She squealed with delight shocking the dragon by the sound. She was sorry to have upset him by the sound of her laughter causing her laugh to alter form the squeal to a broken patchwork of sound. The flew over the mountain tops higher than an eagle. She was so delighted she could not contain the laughter of joy she felt which was her own. The dragon gazed at her and laughed loudly at the sound of her patchwork laugh. She knew he found delight in her new laugh and decided to keep the laugh as her own. The time quickly came when the dragon had to go on his way. She knew one day she would see the beautiful dragon again and hoped that she could show him how much he had done for her. Though many years past she did not give up hope of seeing the dragon again. She travelled many ways and many places until one day she meet the dragon again. She would help the dragon as he had once helped her. She wants to stay with the dragon though out time.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
