In my past experiences of dealing with those who can not tell the difference between role playing and factual occurrences, it is best to give them their own place to get it out of their systems until they find it boring or reality hits them between the eyes. Role playing is a large part of this subculture at this point in time. There could be a place on this site just for that, if the need is great enough. Not another RPG site but a place people can type as their RPC and interact as well. This could also give insight to what people perceive as RPG culture interactions. This may give some aspiring writers a chance to explore a character they are planning to use in a story line. This should be a meeting place, with instant messaging perhaps.
The English language that is socially used has been shortened to letter groups and symbols in text messages that are an accepted from of response. To the point that {if like me} you do not use that form of typed speech then you are lost when seeing it until explained. On other sites and member message services the one or few word responses and posts also run rampant {rabid}. The phrase of “too many words, too many words” is also been used. For the public as a whole wants short quick answers, not a full informative answer. If they haven’t seen the movie or a short web blurb about it somewhere they most likely will not fully read about it any more. Even the use of search engines has lost of the how to research a subject as well.
Typing in a program that corrects spelling and grammar is available to most, but the quick response of a three letter symbolized word response is what most teenagers to sub adults know from social habit of this day and age.
Even I must watch for thick fingers used with a small laptop key board. I must type slowly to ensure correctness. Even the internet browser I currently use has spell check on it. I have never been the best at spelling but I do make an effort to be correct. Sometimes I do well sometimes very badly if quick and fast is the typing reaction. Sometimes I leave a word missed spelled just to see if someone reads through the document fully or skims over it. Also I type and speak differently at times. For with doing Renaissance Faires and Practitioner beliefs and an alternative lifestyle {BDFSM}, I carry an older speech pattern and usage at times.

No matter what is said {typed} here. The socially accepted form of communication will be used. It is up to the individual to use it correctly with the application it is being used with and in.

How it is the same ideas are always poping up and yet few seem to list where they found their information. I have an occult and ancient lore and myth library that I have accumulated looking for the older stories and ways. Most of what I wrote came from the library. Use the internet as a tool and see where and what you can come up with. Show where so others know and find different by the end all that can be found will be. And answers will be full instead of repeating. One source conjecture, two sources plausible, three or more the sources not based upon the other sets the truth for all to find.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
