Wulf clan Cat clan the two oldest clans other than our self. The old stories state we taught the Wulf to howl and the Cat to purr. Gifts promised to them For their help to us. And Justly so.

Wulf swift, deadly, night hunters who stood over our lairs many a century. Barking as a common dog when danger came. Were taught to howl or sing if you wish to the night sky For things they wish and warning to others. The story is long For Starclaws a She-wulf was the first to sing/howl learn and was taught by a long wise Forest dweller of our kind.

Perhaps I will some day Find that Story and tell it to you. Cat silent, proud, unique, who helped us Find things and lived with us as friend were given the gift of purring the expression of gratitude and thankfulness was for special touch and kindness they had shown us. The First escapes my mind now but I will Find the story told long ago about a saber toothed panther cub. Who was the First to make a Black dragon show this gift of feeling and joy. A story that has been long put away as has the other one also.

Our strength is in our knowledge and our way of life. Most live a solitude life. Choose companions few and far between Some crave knowledge and travel within man’s domain. Others, wait for time to be still only wasting away. But some of us gather knowledge, teach what we find and learn new things constantly. There are so few of us left. So few able to communicate with man, few who remember the old Codes and ways. Fewer still who actively practice them. There are many places that hold our stories told by man and more told by us. So many ideas and ways washed away in man wars and conquests. No longer can we sit by and let man destroy us and this world. Yes there came a few who would try to care. And fewer still who actually do what they feel to do. And even some who see us as friends. Wise old ones who they wish to contact and know more about. And yet these only want what so few already have deep within them. The power of our kind to use.

Man is ignorant of the meaning of us of the dragons. The same way they are ignorant of the meaning of the universe. but there is something in our image the fit’s man’s imagination, and this may account for their accounting of our appearances in so many different places periods and forms. which they picture in Lore and art of their mind and talent.

Dragons may have taught the dogs to bark and the cats to pur...but the Coyote's pranks gave them (dragons) their demeanor! Hehe

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
