Profile Information

Tell us of your likes and dislikes. Music? Tv/Movies? Books? What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love "Nature" all the trees, flowers, lakes, rivers, oceans, and all the beautiful creatures, from spiders to Elephants... I have 11 cats and 2 dogs, most were dropped on us, we only went to get two cats, but we love them all...
I love to work with herbs, teas, charm bags, making my own oils and incense etc. All kinds of crafts, I make beautiful boxes and gift most of them. I love making charms for friends and family, especially the grandchildren to protect them.
I read mostly nonfiction, many different kinds of Witchcraft, Voodoo, Hoodoo, and other interest like divination, spirituality, dreams, etc...
I am kind of stuck in oldies as far as music is concerned and I really like Horror Movies the best...
I Live in the middle of nowhere, with a very large pond outside our front door, we are way off the road, LONG Driveway, and we are surrounded by woods, so in my spare time I really enjoy taking the dogs and take nature walks...
Are you currently living what may be considered an alternative lifestyle? For example, are you a traveling artist, practicing a non-mainstream spirituality, or part of a BDFSM lifestyle?
I am an Eclectic Witch, actually a very "Solitary Witch" considering the only one in my whole family and I am pretty sure the only one in this tiny Virginia town of Buckingham... Been here over 5 years and haven't met another one... I am very open with my beliefs and the people here except me as who I am and know I am a not "The Wicked Witch of the East" lol...
My family has also excepted me as I am, it took awhile, they were quite concerned about saving my soul. Anyway they now realize this is me and there is no Evil here.
What does the older knowledge of legend, myth, lore, story, tale, wisdoms mean to you?
I feel very blessed growing up in such colorful, close, and musically talented family. The Uncle and Aunts played and sang wonderful ballads and bluegrass, I have a hard time playing the radio lol... But my Uncles or sometimes my Aunts, late at night sang to me the old ballads or told me stories about ghost riders, or places they lived that were haunted and I couldn't get enough... I was blessed to be part of this family...
Do you belong to any organizations; re-enactment based (i.e. households, tribes, clans), spiritual based (i.e. covens, orders, or other pagan groups) or other? If so which ones and where?
No, I am totally a Solitary Witch... However I have taken classes and am a member of "Firefly Academy of Wicca and Witchcraft" I took courses there for several years, then had some health issues and am just getting my membership back. Lady Iris is a wonderful teacher, and a very wonderful person too...
I also belong to a few little groups where we share spells and info...
But basically I am alone, but I love living so far away from civilization... I have so much nature to keep me company!
If not of the older life styles, how tolerant are you ?
Very Very Tolerant of Everything, I accept everyone for who they are and believe truly that everyone has the right to their beliefs. Freedom of Religion, means EVERY Religion!
My Motto in life is:
"Live and Let Live"
Have you ever been to a Renaissance Faire or Medieval Fest? If so, which did you prefer? If not, which would you rather attend? Would you rather be a participant or spectator? Please relate to us your experience!
I have only went to one, it was the Beltane Festival in Standersville, Virginia. I had the most wonderful time. Even my husband, who moved here from the Netherlands to Marry me had a great time.. He totally excepts my beliefs even though he doesn't share them. Dancing around the fire with fellow Pagans was very exciting and I felt good to be with kindred spirits. I spent a few hundred dollars but it was so worth it it, I bought wonderful things, a great antique cauldron was my favorite, it cleaned up beautifully...
We borrowed a tent from my son and found out it leaked, we woke up soaked lol, but it did not dampen our fun. It wasn't after that I started having some major health problems, which really took my energy... I am finally feeling better and my energy level is rising a little at a time.
I haven't been to a Renaissance Faire or Medieval Fest... I am pretty sure I would enjoy either of the two, my husband I think would prefer the latter.
Do you have any artistry, crafting, and trade… what do you create, Please share your talents with us.
I love buying boxes unfinished all sizes and hand painting them, I give them as gifts. I paint other unfinished woodwork, picture frames, portable alters, birdhouses etc...
I sometimes make bead jewelry. I also make charm Necklaces like little turtles, (buy charms) then cast a protection spell on father turtle to protect those who wear them... My favorite is makes tea mixtures, for colds, sleep, sedative, energy etc...

Please answer all questions honestly and openly so staff and members can get to know you. Approval of your application will be based upon your answers. Any thing else you would like to tell people?
I am a solitary eclectic Witch, I cast spells but most are for protection, myself and others, and healing spells... I am a country girl and I am totally honest about myself and except people for who they are. I love nature and love animals. It took awhile but I am finally in a loving and totally trusting relationship. I would do anything to help my family and friends.
I really am a very uncomplicated problems.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
