Custom Handmade Knives

I don't have a lot of pictures of my fully finished blades because of a computer glitch that deleted all of them after they sold and before I could get them on my computer. I use high carbon spring steel and some 440c high carbon stainless steel for the blades. For Damascus or pattern welded blades I use billets bought from other's who are better at making it and/or have better tools to make it than I do. Today's metals are so well alloyed that the only reason for Damascus blades are for looks. If properly done they still make good blades but your going to be paying a lot more for a pretty pattern.
I can also do acid etching on the blades. Pictures will be put up of this work once I have them.
Most of my blades are hand forged and ground out. I also make some that are cut out and ground down and some that are cut and partially forged and then ground. It actually depends on the style of blade on what method I use! My double sided blades are forged out and file drawn to get the ridge straight before they are touched with a knife grinder. My more expensive ones are also hand sanded to 2000 grit before they are polished.
I use a Japanese clay tempering process to heat treat the blades. This gives a nice hard edge and a softer core or back side for durability.
Titanium- I don't do titanium work. I have made one titanium throwing star (shuriken) and then vowed never to grind the stuff again. Unless the alloys changed in the last 10 years titanium is a soft metal that is really only useful for throwing weapons and live steel show fighting blades. The only reason for the latter is because of it chipping, when clashing with steel blade the chipping of the titanium blade makes a pretty spark.
