ValhallasAnvil, fires up gorgeous items!

On Artfire, there are random pictures of artisan’s work posted on the side of our forums.  There are so many talented people creating all sorts of gorgeous things, and some  just  jump out at you!

ValhallasAnvil, http://www.artfire.com/users/ValhallasAnvil, makes a fire and uses his anvil to make some amazing things.  He also does some gorgeous leather work.  He will also do custom work, contact him thru his Artfire site.
Here’s a few lines from  Valhalla’s Bio on Artfire:

I was born at a very young age and grew up in a small country town called Jefferson, Ohio. Since the age of 8 I have wanted to learn metalworking and even created some of my own weapons.
After graduating High School I joined the Navy and was whisked away to Japan. While there I visited many countries in the Orient and Australia! I did my time in the service and some health problems arose, while still in.
After many operations I was honorably discharged and had to find my way in the world as a Disabled Veteran. I went to Kent State University for Jewelry/Metals and became an Apprentice in Blacksmithing.
For the last 12+ years I have owned and operated my business through several Medieval and Fantasy circuits. We have had several names for said business, but now We are Valhalla’s Anvil and through it all I remain Black Angus Silverleaf!

I spent a number of years in a middle ages reenactment group called SCA. Valhalla’s  creations really appeal to me.  Check out this button or hair tie, made of brass.

Look at this Eye of Ra etching, which he can put on a bracelet, headband or choker.

Artfire - Featured Shop -Valhallas Anvil

Valhallas Anvil is a member of the Men of Artfire guild on artfire.  The men are greatly outnumbered by the women on the site, so we had to come up where we could spit and chew without reprobation.  Anyway, Black Angus does some amazing metal and leather work for his shop.

They are perfect for your Renaissance outfit.  Metal buttons, cloak clasps, leather cuffs and bracers are all available from Valhalla's Anvil.  Take a look at some of his items below, then visit his shop:

Reviewed upon Custom McKayne crap. By Skyssx Wed Aug 17, 2011 I stopped by a merchant at Pennsic 40, Valhalla's Anvil. He does blacksmithing, jewelry and leatherwork. Of particular note, he mentioned he does custom casting or striking and pointed out a bunch of those Roman domed dress pin things. Not being a Roman house, those wouldn't be the particular thing ordered, but he said he could do a design into anything we wanted. Not sure if there's an interest, but it's out there

Here you'll also find Axe and Arrow's quality foam weapons. Need to replace a cover quick? Grab one of their weapon 'socks', for when you need a new cover in a hurry!

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
