You catch the fiddler’s eye, and the drummer too they know that look and wish to play for you

In the fire’s gleam, the star shine and the moon a sliver watches as one enters

As you take three steps back, one to the side dreams of something he will yearn upon for all time

Into the shadowland in to the places of partially seen you wait for the tune the beat to match it in a step

As the voices call you back, the whispers of old return to you softly slowly you start to turn

to your gypsy home, where you knew your mate once and left before

your eyes burn the dark, with the emerald spark that show the flames inside untamed.

with a wild flame of fire, the sparks of desire you start

and you grit your teeth in a hiss of desire for the beat and tune is one you desire

as  a scarf you twist and flow within the space that is between

as the coal-black night blurs you dark brown hair the who watches falls unto your sway once more

a cloak of stars adorns the sky and shadows you in it’s warmth for a time

your shaking limbs respond to the tune the beat and so within the heart again beats for what is within

you take another step and turn another movement slowly the ways of the tune takes the shape of you

into the one who waits line of sight once more you are and into his heart your sight is scored.

and laughing snarling defiant you turn you dance you twist to the tune within the land

you step out into the light and a goddess descends forth dancing and turning for all to enjoy

you must have gypsy blood for the way you move for the way you are the way one see you turn

the way you dance that tune the way you look against the fire moon and night stars.

to the open road and the open sky one at home with them as well

the way the candle flame turns and twist you do so in the mist of fire smoke that curls to your moments.

Catches a secret corner of the that one’s mind and he is lost within you sight the drum lost to his ears his arms burn to hold you this night

of your roving eye you see one stands waiting for your hand, old and worn he knows not if he will be able to hold your heart again.

Now I wait watching in my mind within burning within waiting for the feelings again

your transported image within my mind of a day that you danced just so

Burning within my heart and soul

I wait mesmerized for you once more and for the dance to begin

Nine nights your sight has found me nine nights for the words to come forth

And I do not know what to do of this but weep and toss back and forth.

For the spiral dancer stirs is deep within

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
