Come and celebrate with us as Serpentstone for the final time in Georgia, a celebration of Samhain and of Family. We come together to remember the good times of the last 20 years. We come to look forward to the future. While Serpentstone draws to an end, the Dream continues to live strong within our hearts.

Trancing With the Stars

The term trance is associated with hypnosis, meditation, magic, flow, prayer and altered states of consciousness.  Please come to Samhain and share your favorite forms of trance.  We will have classes on meditation, different types of divination and a fund raiser where you can volunteer to tell fortunes for 1 hour blocks of time.  Don’t forget to bring your tarot decks, runes, tea leaves, or whatever your favorite method is!  See YOU at Samhain!

Return to the Hills!

Dragon Hills is a beautiful site of rolling hills and nestled woods.  There are hot showers, sheltered areas if it rains, a truly magickal Circle upon the top of the hill, and a kick-ass drum circle.  Cabins are available at extra charge on a first-come, first-serve basis: please contact Dragon Hills directly at (770)258-0863 (or see http://www.dragonhillsretreat.com/)

Please bring your instruments, your joy, and your own personal magick.

Adults and children welcome!  This is NOT a skyclad gathering.

Food for Saturday’s feast will be provided free of charge to participants, but other meals are available for sale.

PRACTICAL MATTERS

PLEASE BRING: tent, sleeping bags, blankets, rain gear and clothing for both warm and cold weather, flashlight, snack foods, ritual gear, drums, and other musical instruments. Plan for a wide temperature range, even at this time of the year. Remember your feast gear and eating utensils.

If you need to buy things before or during the gathering, please stop at one of the larger stores in town, rather than the small local convenience stores. It keeps the small stores able to supply their regular customers, and keeps the rumors and security hassles down.

Although the kitchen is no longer open for SerpentStone to use, the landowners will be providing supper for us on Saturday, included in gathering cost.

Any other meals are on your own.  Please bring your own drinks. The landowners will be selling food for other meals at reasonable prices if you wish.

ANY FOOD CONTRIBUTIONS SHOULD BE CANNED GOODS OR FOODS FOR DRUM ALTAR

RULES TO LIVE BY

Treat each other with respect, and respect all paths. Take care of those you come with, and respect the land, by leaving your campsite cleaner than you found it. Most of all, HAVE FUN!

No illegal drugs, firearms, drunken behavior, bad attitudes, violence or other inappropriate behaviors will be condoned on the site. We DO enforce the no drugs rule, and the security team has active duty law enforcement officers serving among them, so don't bring them!

No pets. Service dogs only will be permitted at the gathering site. All other pets will be refused at the gate, so please do not bring them.

Please bring: positive attitudes, appropriate gear, and food for the potluck contribution! Please note: We are working very hard to keep our prices low, despite rising costs for sites, food, and fuel. If you can add something, even a dollar or two, to your registration, it may help someone else be able to attend. Community service: Each participant needs to contribute two hours of community service during the gathering. It is basically just a little of the background work that lets a gathering happen, and may include helping out with registration, heralding workshops or rituals, helping with the site, or cleanup. It's fun, and a great way to get to know folks better!

an email confirming your registration and giving directions to the site will be sent about a week before the gathering if we have received your completed pre-registration form and your payment.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
