Linking your favorite traveling artists across the globe
This is for those who decide that they will help with either costume photos for the showing of our products or the wearing the items as a model for show at one of the various types of shows that we are currently set up at or going to be setting up at .
All should read this and understand that common sense above all else matters.
All should take a shower to ensure a clean body- this will help in preventing the costuming form being soiled. We do have a requirement of no make-up. This is also to help prevent the costuming from becoming soiled and/or stained.
We request that lighter colored underclothing be worn so that the colors do not show through the white items you may be requested to wear. For the ladies we ask you to go sans bra. This is to
obtain the correct appearance and proper fit of the costuming. Jewelry can be of your own choosing as long as it is of a medieval style or make. We do have jewelry available if you wish wear it for the show and/or photos.
All of the costuming that will be used will be custom made items that we carry for the artisans and crafters that we represent. If we need to fill in outfits with production items we will do so.
You will pick out the costuming that will be of the correct size and fit for yourself. Please start by picking colors that work best with your skin tone and find the correct size in those colors. If this is for a photo shoot please place the costuming back on the hanger and then in a different section to ensure that all of the costuming has been used.
Photo Shoot Polices
All photo shoots are closed set- this means models, photographer, artisan/crafter if there, and Drago and/or Isabell. This is to ensure privacy and to keep compromising situations from
happening because of some of the costuming that we carry. There will be a private changing area where all costuming will be put on and changed for personal privacy. If Isabell is there she will assist the ladies if they need assistance changing costuming.
The tag(s) will be taken off for the photo and then placed back once the photo is done. Either before or after the photo you will tell the person recording data what tag(s) you have from the costuming.
During the photo shoot all costuming will be used first as to how it fits the models. If we need to use pieces of costumes over again to finish the photo shoot we will do so.
If time allows after all the costuming has been used we will switch outfits amongst the models still there for a mixing of faces and styles of clothing.
Each model will receive a copy of their photos as a “Thank You”, for their time and effort. Models at shows are encouraged to have photos taken of them off them-and to ask for at least one copy of the photograph to be sent to ASK FOR IT. If any of the models are interested in acquiring any of the items they wore the item(s) will be offered to them at a wholesale price instead of the full retail price.
We try very hard to have a low pressured atmosphere at the photo shoots. We have these simple requirements to help go smoothly and easily for all involved. Please relax and enjoy the experience. Thank you for taking the time to read this. We hope that it will prevent any conflicts form happening.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.
Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.
Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.
As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.
We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.
Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.
Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.
Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"
A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?
After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...
Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
