THE LAWS OF FAERIE
Honour is the most important thing to a faerie. we have no written down laws, we have no law courts, prisons or punishements. we don't need them. The loss of honour for a faerie by doing something that they know they shouldn't do, is more than punishement enough. Some faeries have even left society because they did something wrong, and were never heard from again. Others went to the mortal realm, believing that its benality and the early death that living there would bring on, was punishment enough. If a faerie does not willingly punish themself, then it is left for me to do so. Writing this page was nearly impossible for me, because i had to put into writing laws that we all know but that have never been written down before. I did my best. None of these crimes matter if they are done towards a human, they are for between faerie kind only.

A note on banishing. A spell is put on a faerie who is banished to the mortal realm so that they cannot return unless that spell is removed. the Faerie realm itself just won't let that faerie back through one of it's portals.

Stealing
Faeries never steal. NEVER. should a faerie steal, and be found out, all honour is taken from them and they are banished to the mortal realm.

Lovers
An important rule. Any faerie can sleep with whom ever they wish. Rape does not exist in our realm. Should a faerie be rejected, that is that. There are plenty of other faeries around, there is no need to EVER force anyone to do what they want. They can easily find someone else. We are selfish and lascivous and easily obsessed, but we are also easily bored and we do honour a faerie's right to choose. Sex is for pleasure, and it is always important that both lovers should enjoy it and be willing. Should two faeries be interested in the same faerie, it is up to that faerie whether they sleep with both, or just one of their suitors. Usually they sleep with both, and that is why there are accounts of three or more faeries enjoying themselves than there is of just a normal couple.

In the old days, there were faerie duels. Faeries would fight each over the one that they wanted. It was made against the law to duel, after the creation of the Lost Garden, following an elven woman's murder. Any faerie who is found encouraging a duel, suggesting one, or even acting in a way dangerous towards another faerie that looks like it might lead to a duel, is banished. We cannot have faeries acting like mortals. Faeries have to respect each other and their right to choose their own partners, and anyone seen acting in a less than respectful way towards another faerie faces the harshest of punishements.

Killing
Dueling is banned. Murder is forbidden. We do not need to punish any faerie who kills, because the realm of Faerie does that itself. Murder is abhorant to Faerie, violence in anyway hurts the land. The realm will kill any guilty of murder instantly, and I am responsible for punishing anyone who is violent towards another to ensure the realm's well being. But thankfully, that has never come up. Faeries are never violent. When they are moved by jealous rages, firey passions, as they so often are, it is always short lived, and they are disctracted by the next pretty face they see going by.

Magic

Anyone caught studying only destructive Wild Magic, studying High Magic without being allowed to by the guild or sneaking private Wild Magic books, or, doing a Binding spell on another faerie, is in big trouble. There can only be negative things created with the Destructive force of magic, so anyone studying that alone can only be planning bad things. Studing Wild Magic, or looking at Wild Magic books without permission, can be deverstating. It, too, can only have bad results. Binding another faerie to do what you want, is a very serious crime, also. As faeries are supposed to have free will, be the very symbols of free will, and tying someone down like that is making a mockery of that. The punishment for all these serious crimes is banisment.

Releasing Demons
Demons live within the darkness between the realms. Unlike faeries, they cannot come and go between the realms, and between the darkness as they want. They have to be summoned, but they are unruly. One mistake in the spell of compulsion, the geas, and they will rip their summoner to pieces and be free amongst the faerie realm. No faerie is mad enough to bring a demon into the realm, and very few are skilled enough. If demons are needed, then only I, with consultation from the Council of Wild Magic, can allow it. The price for doing so without my permission iis death. The only crime in which i have the power to sentence someone to death.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
