FAIRY GARDEN POWDER
This powder is made with things that the fae are said to love. If you believe in fairies and want to invite them into your garden, make this powder and sprinkle it all around (even if that garden is just a window box).
Fairy Garden Powder can be made any time that you are in a good mood, or feel charged with positive energy, but Midsummer Eve is an especially powerful time for its making or its sprinkling. It is only meant for outdoor use.
Ingredients:
4 parts base powder, composed of any mixture of plants from this list, dried and powdered:
apple bark or peel, blackberry leaves, bluebells, clover, cowslips, daffodils, elecampane root, ferns, foxgloves; hawthorn berries, bark, or blossoms; heather, holly berries, hollyhocks, pansies, primrose blossoms, rose petals, strawberry leaves, thyme, yarrow
2 parts powdered milk
2 parts honey powder (sold by gourmet spice vendors)
The fae are said to be attracted to bright shiny things, so also add:
1/2 part rock crystal chips
1/2 part multi-color pastel glitter
1/2 part gold glitter
The smell of thyme and lilac are said to attract fairies, so essential oil of thyme, or lilac fragrance oil, could also be added to your powder, if that would blend well with the scent of your other botanical ingredients.
Mix all the ingredients together by stirring them deosil (clockwise) with an athame, until they are thoroughly blended.
Fairy houses are small constructions made from natural things, such as moss, bark, twigs, and thatch. A fairy house looks like a suitable habitation for the fae. Making and installing a fairy house or two in your garden is another way to invite fairies to take up residence there. Fairy Garden Powder can be sprinkled around such tiny houses, to enhance their attraction to the fae.
FAIRIES FAREWELL POWDER
Fairies are elementals, and like all elementals, they can make nuisances of themselves. In their most malevolent aspect, it is said that fairies can even be dangerous to humans. If your home or garden is ‘foul with fae’, make this powder and sprinkle it around to drive them off and keep them away.
Farewell Fairies Powder is best made on a Saturday, or when the Moon is waning. Its color will be bland, and it will not have much scent.
Ingredients:
Combine equal parts of as many of the following ingredients as you are able to obtain, to yield whatever amount of powder you will need:
iron filings (this is a crucial ingredient; iron dietary supplement tablets could be powdered and substituted, but it is best to use iron filings)
pearlwort, dried and powdered
alder bark or leaves, powdered
ash bark or leaves, powdered
forget-me-not blossoms, dried and powdered
morning glory flowers, dried and powdered
morning glory seeds, whole
tomato seeds, whole
Combine all of the ingredients, stirring them widdershins (anti-clockwise) with an athame to mix them well. Focus on banishing all fairies from your home and property, while you mix the powder.
To empower:
black candle(s)
any incense of Saturn, such as frankincense or clove
any small object(s) made of iron
Put the iron object(s) into the powder. Burn the candle(s) and the incense. As you charge the powder with your intent, remember that you mean the fairies no harm, but that you simply want them to relocate. When the incense has burned down, mix its ashes into the powder, again stirring widdershins with an athame. Remove the iron object(s).
Sprinkle the powder throughout your garden, saying “fare thee well” as you do it. If the problem has been within the house, such as with the disappearance of household items, sprinkle the powder across all of the doorways and window sills. Installing things which make noise that is pleasant to humans, such as bells and wind chimes, will help to keep the fairies from returning. If tomatoes or morning glories should begin growing where you sprinkled the Farewell Fairies Powder, you can take this as a powerful sign that it is working.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.
Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.
Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.
As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.
We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.
Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.
Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.
Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"
A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?
After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...
Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
