Dressmaking is as much an art as it is a science.  Finding the right fabric, creating the desired effect, fitting the style to the client, all requires not just technical knowledge of design and construction, but also years of experience with materials and designs.  I have 20 years of experience in the dressmaking trade, both in alterations and in custom design.  While I am not formally trained as a designer, I can sew clothing from sketches and photos, taking into consideration the differences in size and body type between the model and the client. 

I welcome clients of all sizes and lifestyles, whether  Petite, Misses, Plus or Super Sized.  I consider all clothing to be a form of costume, designed to create an effect, and my goal is to create the effect you, the client, wish to convey, whether it is traditionally feminine, tailored, or a more radical edgey look.  I am very aware that I am not my clientele, and that my personal tastes may differ from theirs.  My concern is to make the clothing that you, the client, desires.

I have sewn dresses, skirts and blouses in a wide variety of styles.  Simple styles are often more challenging than complex ones, as simple styles must be designed and fitted absolutely flawlessly, as any minor imperfection will show clearly. Each garment is personally fitted to your unique body dimensions, with your guidance concerning how closely fitted you wish it.
