******************
'Round and Round'
This song by composer Wendy Sheridan originated from a drum induced trance-state. She found herself transported to a special place in a magical forest with bonfire and dancers, and all manner of marvelous things. This song commemorates that experience, and incorporates elements from the closing of Wiccan rituals--"The circle is open, but never broken. Merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again. Blessed be."
'Calling the Quarters'
In the opening of a Wiccan ritual, the four directions of East, South, West & North are invoked - summoning the elements of Air, Fire Water & Earth to join the Circle as the candles are lit. In this song, you are invited into this circle with the Goddess and the God in Perfect Love and Perfect Trust. The bluesy melodies of guest guitarist Jim Incollingo add to the flavor of this stirring composition.
'In the Belly of the Mother'
This song commemorates Imbolc (the return of the sun), a major Sabbat which occurs every February 2nd. It is a time for cleansing & for celebration, when it becomes apparant to all that the days are getting longer, and spring will soon be arriving. The Goddess Brigit is honored, the patroness of poets, bards, & musicians, Goddess of the fire - candles & forges as well as the internal fires of creativity. This growing life-energy also manifests in the physical with Brigit as the protector of pregnant women, midwives and women in labor. With Rich Sheridan on lead vocals, this special song is dedicated to Her.
'On Eventide of May'
Written by Daxe and Michelle Augustyniak, with lead vocal by Wendy Sheridan, this song is about Beltane, the Rites of Spring. It is a fertility festival, commemorating the Sacred Marriage of the God and Goddess, and is the time of planting. The celebrations can be wild and passionate.....and sometimes there is a price to pay.
'When Gaia Wears Purple
Another song by Daxe featuring unusual harmonies & complex rhythms, the Old Womyn of the Forest shows off her creativity.
'Shamanistic Dreams
A totally instrumental piece, this rythmic excursion is direct from the fertile & creative brains of Daxe and Vonorn.
'Wizardwood'
Rich Sheridan is the featured vocalist in this song about initiation - a metaphor for self-discovery & personal & spiritual growth. Altho'this song is not based on any particular Wiccan or Pagan tradition, the spending of solitary time in sacred space to confront one's self and to come to terms with the dark side within is a universal theme. Bruce Katz adds to the mystique with his wonderful guitar.
'Baby I'm Falling'
The Wizard from the previous song is ready to return to the "mundane" world & find the magic that is part of everyday living. This song was written as an admission and question to a new love. It is unabashed pop from Wendy Sheridan and Bob Lame, who also plays guitar on this song.
'Miles Before Dawn'
Can you remember a time when all you wanted to do was stay up all night with someone and just feel good - when you weren't looking for a relationship or a commitment? If so, this song (another from the Sheridan/Lame catalog) is for you, enhanced by Bob Lame on the guitar.
Love Has Nine Lives
When everything is dark, this song reminds us that there is light at the end of the tunnel. It was written in the aftermath of a very intense relationship. From the songwriting duo of Sheridan/Lame, Bob Lame plays guitar on this track as well.
'Goddess Mandala'
This is something that no one has attempted since the "album sides" of the 70's - during the fifteen minutes of this work, you will hear some familiar Pagan chants, and pieces of melodies that appear in other songs of this album. You'll also experience the names and the invocation of over 150 Goddesses, and are invited to listen and meditate, dance or whatever strikes your fancy. Namaste.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.
Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.
Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.
As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.
We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.
Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.
Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.
Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"
A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?
After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...
Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
