Event Description
Black Moon is a reference to one of four astronomical events involving new or dark moons. There is a range of, often contradictory, definitions of a black moon, some suggesting it is when there are two dark cycles of the moon in any given calendar month, and others where no full moon is present in a calendar month, being contradictory as one can only ever happen in a February, and the other can only ever occur in any other month. It is treated by Wicca s a powerful astrological period in which any magical works performed would be more effective.

New Moon/Dark Moon B Jana's Bow, balsamic Moon she is know by many magic done know will be typically for introspective work, the shadow self, personal issues and private matters, banishing and bindings, inner growth. It is also a time to examine your “dark” nature, finding ways to integrate it into your life in a healthy and balanced way. What are the things that hold you back from achieving your goals? Are there things in your personality or lifestyle that you have suppressed because of the opinions of others? The New Moon is a time to allow your dark side to come forth and be examined, releasing what is harmful while retaining those things that express your true self in a positive way. There are some who warn against doing any kind of magick during a Balsamic. Moon to my mind we have to be whole as witches and this means working with all aspects light and dark I have no problem doing magick at this time. Some of my most powerful rituals have been during a Dark Moon, in Witchcraft, this Moon phase represents the Crone aspect of the Goddess. The second New Moon occurring in the same month is called a Black Moon,we all have a dark side and we should be aware of this in our lives and how it affects us both positively and negitivitaly

Super “Black” Moon (New Moon) Tonight
Tonight we have a special and quite rare celestial event. The moon will be new for the second time this month, making it a "black" moon (as opposed to the "blue" moon which is the second full moon of the same month.) In addition, the moon will be marginally closer to the earth, making it appear larger to the human eye and hence a "super" moon.
I am particularly fond of new moons. They can symbolise potential, new beginnings, growth that is yet to happen, the stirrings of change and the planting of new seeds. The new moon, or dark moon, also relates to the subconscious, to the deepest and furthest reaches of our soul. As is often the case with the mysterious and the unknown, people may project their fears onto this moon, associating it with "dark forces" and negativity. The new moon is indeed dark, but it is the dark of the great mystery of sleep, the subconscious and of things yet to be revealed.
We can pay attention to how our dreams change as the cycles of the moon change - are they more reflective and introspective at the new moon, and more expansive and celebratory at the full moon?
But we can go further than that and align ourselves with the cycles of nature by attending to our inner work in harmony with the cycles of the moon. At the new moon, this may mean taking time to reflect and journey within, perhaps through meditation, writing, active imagination or shamanic spirit questing. We can also prime our dreaming mind to provide a specific dream for us. This is a good time to incubate dreams to solve long held problems, for insight how to let go of ideas or behaviours that we have outgrown, or to seek advice on starting a new project or creative endeavour.
If you feel so inclined, this a great time to add rituals to your dreaming practice. You may wish to try lighting a candle and focusing on the flame as you clear your mind ready to receive dreams, or as you formulate a request for a specific dream. You can write your dream wish on paper or cloth and tuck it beneath your pillow. The new moon is associated with black, but also white - this encompasses the ambiguous nature of creation that comes from "nothing" into "something." The new moon is also associated with the number one, with bells (or gongs), and herbs wormwood and vervain (herbs that can help relax and take us to deeper parts of the psyche!) so you may wish to incorporate these into your dream preparations.
The new moon is like the dark universal womb where new life can be created and new growth begins. From this dark and sacred space our secret, awesome magical selves can arise and reveal themselves in the light of the waxing moon, until we grow into fullness. With a black moon, this energy is enhanced and the creative forces even more powerful within us.
Tonight, your dreams may reveal more than you had expected. Focus inwards, pay attention. Your dreams may help you achieve your most deeply held hopes and visions, they may help you move past obstacles, and they may even heal you. Tomorrow will be a brand new day...

Today is the second New Moon in January making it a Black Moon. The Celts and the Druids seen a Black Moon as a time of great changes and of good luck. This Black Moon is extra special as it is also a Supermoon meaning it is much closer to the earth than at any other time. This will make tides higher than normal, it will also make our emotions feel heightened.
The Aquarius New Moon represents freedom and liberation. Liberate your mind first and your freedom will follow. Aquarius reminds you to follow the beat of your own drum. Be unique. Be original. Be who you really are. Take a walk on the weird side of life. You may find a part of yourself that has been begging for expression. This is the Antiquarian New Moon message.
A new cycle is beginning for you. The Aquarius New Moon can empower you to move in a bold direction. You may break free from bad habits and relationships. You are no longer distracted by fear and doubt. You are ready to be who you were born to be. This is a time of great luck, so go out and try new things, use this lucky time to grow businesses, start new jobs, go to interviews, find a new love.
Change your mind. You change your life. See your challenges from a different perspective. See your challenges as opportunities for growth. They keep your life fresh and lively. Your life can be much freer than you may have realized. In this way, new opportunities will emerge for you. Believe in your dreams coming true. Uranus is encouraging you to have a fresh start. Be innovative. Don’t allow the negative ego to hold back your dreams. Listen to your intuition. You intuition is your inner knowledge. Allow your Higher Self to guide you to new relationships and goals. Sudden unexpected opportunities can come to you from out of the blue.
There are new perspectives to be enjoyed now and this Moon reminds us that no matter how far we may have strayed from where we want to be we can always get back there as long as there is hope and the will to move and grow yourself.
The Black Moon opens a portal to other dimensions. Honored by Wiccans and various schools of Magic, the Black Moon is a fertile time to connect with spirits and other realms and the planes where the ascended masters walk. It augurs a cycle of mystery and magic, even more mystical than the Blue Moon. The double New Moons are associated with higher consciousness, altered states of awareness and hidden wisdom. Use the energy well.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.
We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.
Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"
A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?
After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...
Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
