- Tell us of your likes and dislikes. Music? Tv/Movies? Books? What do you like to do in your spare time?
- I tolorate modern music, I like Celtic Music and music from the 40s 50s and some from the 60s,I like to watch period dramas/films on tv and anything to do with those periods, ie the victorian farm, Tudor farm, etc.
In my spare time I bake and decorate Cakes, I knit, I do embroidery, I make cards... anything crafty really.
- Are you currently living what may be considered an alternative lifestyle? For example, are you a traveling artist, practicing a non-mainstream spirituality, or part of a BDFSM lifestyle?
- I suppose some people may say I do, I am not a church goer, I do not practice a "christian" religion, I am a hands on healer and I follow the Celtic faith of my Irish forefathers.And live , as much as possible, to their way of life. I was raised in England, but spent a lot of my growing years, on my Grandparents farm in Wicklow Eire, where I learnt the old ways and my maiden aunt taught me something about Herbs and their uses, which I have over the years, used and learnt more about.I feel I have a deep connection with the earth, and tend my garden lovingly, I beleive in Fearies and speak to them often in my garden, I leave little gifts for them, and in exchange my garden grows beautifully every spring, summer and autumn. We also grow vegetables herbs and garlic for our own use, apples and rhubarb also.
- What does the older knowledge of legend, myth, lore, story, tale, wisdoms mean to you?
- The older knowledge and wisdom means a great deal to me, as it is the base religion which has been from time before Christians came to outlaw it, and call it Paganism!my ancestors made herbal medicines and worshipped the same Gods and Goddesses that I do, they lived off the land, as I like to do, though in modern times in a town, it is difficult, but I do go elderberry and blackberry picking and make jams and my husband makes wine and Honey Mead, we celebrate the festivals with a celtic meal and sometimes go to my cousins and hold a fest.
- Do you belong to any organizations; re-enactment based (i.e. households, tribes, clans), spiritual based (i.e. covens, orders, or other pagan groups) or other? If so which ones and where?
- I have been in spiritual organizations and a couple of Pagan groups in and around Stockport,I have been involved in Meditation Classes and Ghost hunting groups, but found instead of trying to help the tormented spirits, they were doing the tormenting, making silly jokes and dressing in sheets etc to scare the people who were on the ghost hunt,so I left, as I attract a lot of trapped spirits and send them over to the light, this annoyed me greatly, and when on being told how I felt, I was told they didn't mind,(spirit) when they had told me different, I apologized to them for their ignorance and left the group and now spend most of my time as a hedge witch,in my own company, making my herbal remedies, doing my crossing over and living the way I wish to live. I have found some groups are very good, but others have an element of pride in them, one person has to be better than the next, this I disagree with as we are all learning all the time, some can be more knowledgable than you, but they are still learning also, therefore instead of giving the "I am better than you" attitude, we should all help each other, maybe I am wrong to think that way, but spirit say we are all equal on earth and are here to learn, and I accept what they tell me.
- If not of the older life styles, how tolerant are you ?
- very tolerant, my children have chosen their own path as they have grown, I now have Christians and Catholics in my family, I beleive their religions have stemmed from my own faith, they worship a differnt way, but ultimately the same. I have nothing against other religions, unless people are killing in the name of religion.
- Have you ever been to a Renaissance Faire or Medieval Fest? If so, which did you prefer? If not, which would you rather attend? Would you rather be a participant or spectator? Please relate to us your experience!
- My husband and I went to the Renaissance fair on the Isle of White in 2010,it was very enjoyable. I have not attended a Medieval Fest,so I cannot say which I would prefer. I think I would rather be a spectator, though I have medieval wear in my wardrobe and have worn them on such occasions as Handfastings and pagan rituals, when I was part of a group.
- Do you have any artistry, crafting, and trade… what do you create, Please share your talents with us.
- I am qualified in cake decorating and sugar-craft, I sew, embroider and knit, I love floristry and working with flowers, i love gardening. I love nature and the outdoors especially woodland, I like to weave, and have made my own wands from various tree branches, I have located on my walks, though as my husband is now disabled I can no longer get to woodlands to collect anything.

- I try to do what I can where I can, if help is needed and I have the time I will help anyone, my husband is disabled, so it is difficult for me to get away from the house, as he cannot walk or stand for long due to severe pain in his back, he has degenerative Spinal Disease, and I am his full time carer, on a good day he does sometimes leave the house, but that is not very often, therefore if there is something that I can do from home... ie prepare food or cakes, sewing etc I will be happy to oblige, more than that I cannot help with.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.
As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.
We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.
Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"
A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?
After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...
Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
