Lyrics to "Walking in the Woods"

Walking in the woods in the middle of the night
You been out drinkin, so you look a fright!
Stumblin around you wobble and sway
Pretty soon, you've lost your way!

You're lost….
…you drunken sot…
…where are we?…
Out in the distance, an eerie light!
--howl!
(and some very strange noises)
winkin and blinkin in the middle of the night
What could it be?
--Frog?

Could it be a lantern?
--I don't think so
Could it be the pub?
--I don't think so
Could it be a campfire?
--I don't think so
Maybe it's a firefly
--I don't think so
hmm…..what could it be?

Could it be scary?
--scary?!
Scary!
--Scary!

Something scary and icky and awful and putrid and disgusting and horrible and nasty and frightening…..like Him!

--Like him?

--Like me?

--ooh yuck! Like you!!

--ooooh!
It Could be scary!

Could it be a goblin on a midnight ride?
Or a Kobold with a lantern by his side?
Or a pixie nasty, putrid and green?
Or something worse and more disgusting than you ever seen?
It Could be Scary!

---Scar-eeeeeee!!!

But I don't think so…

--You don't?

NO, cause I hear crickets!

--Crickets!

(cricket solo by Nerethel)

When you're walking in the woods on a dark moon night
And you hear crickets sing, you know it's all right
'cause crickets don't sing when there's danger around
They only sing when they're happy and it's pleasant and it's nice and it's safe to be
Walkin in the woods in the middle of the night….

Well, if it isn't scary, then what could it be?

--I don't know
--who knows?

I know what it is! (smirk)

--What?

It depends

--on what?

If you believe…
--Believe in what?
In faeries!
--Faeries!
Yes, Faeries!
--Faeries!

I believe in faeries!
--She believes in faeries
Do you believe in faeries?
--no, uh uh, not us
You Better believe in faeries!
--ok, ok, all right
--we believe in faeries
They believe in faeries!
What about you?
Do you believe in faeries?
--We believe in faeries
You gotta believe in Faeries!
--why?

If you walk in the woods
On a strange dark night
And you want to see faeries
In the eerie light
All you gotta do is say the magic word
--Cheese?

It's a very little word
It's a wee tiny word

--about this big

Do you know what it is?

--rumplestilkston?
--open sesame?
--Spock?
--Spark?
--ooogleflunk?

No, it's a wee little word, it's a very wee word,
It's a tiny little word, it's wee!
--wee?
Yes, wee!

If you want to see faeries, say wheee!
---Wheee?
--we!
--oui
wheeeee!

You wanna see them, then?
--Sure. Why not?

On three….say whee!
One….
…Wait for it!!
One…
Two…
Three…..wheeeeeeeeeeee!

It's magic, it's magic, it's magic!
I believe in faeries!
Do YOU believe in faeries?
One, two.
One two three four Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
