Occupying the 8th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Goat (or Sheep) symbolizes such character traits as creativity, intelligence, dependability, and calmness. Comfortable being alone to ponder the workings of their inner minds, Goats enjoy being part of a group, but prefer the sidelines rather than the center. Their nurturing personality makes Goats excellent care-givers. They’re quite and reserved because they spend much time absorbed in their thoughts.

Home and alone is where Goats feel most comfortable. There they can express themselves artistically, whether it’s by painting, cooking or participating in whatever artistic endeavors they enjoy. Goats prefer the couch because there they can relax and explore their minds. They don’t need elaborate furnishings; only items reflecting their desire for art.

When traveling or seeking entertainment, Goats prefer groups or venues that hold many people. Goats spend money on fashions that give them a first class appearance. Although Goats enjoy spending money on the finer things in life, they are not snobbish.
Health
Perhaps because Goats are basically serene, they tend to have fewer health problems. Their fragile exterior hides the fact they’re typically very healthy. When they’re happy, they’re healthy. When Goats become unhappy, especially as a result of romance, they quickly become sick.
Relationships
Goats tend to be private, so it can take effort to get to know one. The Goat is the one who will decide when and with whom it will share its personal life. As a result, most Goats have few “close” friends, yet they’ll work hard for those they love.

Goats at work prefer being part of a flock. Power and status aren’t important. Goats will only assume leadership roles when asked directly. They’ll never volunteer. Sheep are the good samaritans of the Chinese zodiac. They are gentle mannered and on the shy side. Being very sincere they are easily taken by a sob story. Sheep people are compassionate, understanding of others faults, and quick to forgive.
Sheep like to set their own hours and will not tolerate too much discipline. They are also very offended if they are criticized. They cannot work well under pressure and must be allowed to do things at their own speed. Sheep need somebody to discipline them, though, in order to utilize their talents. They usually find someone to look after and care for them.
Good fortune smiles upon the sheep. They benefit from wills and inheritances. Even in the roughest of times, the Sheep always acquire the basic needs. Sheep get their own way without force or violence. They have that passive endurance that drives you mad. Eventually they wear you down with their pleas. You just can't break them!
Sheep never come right out and discuss what's bothering them. You pry it out of them bit by bit. When all else fails, yell at them, and bang things around. They should be impressed and might unfold all their secret woes; then, you can clear the air. The Sheep are family people. They never forget anyone's birthday, and you had better not forget theirs! Sheep worry, too. They want others to cheer them up and tell them everything will be okay.
Sheep overspend and should avoid dealing with money. They find it hard to be practical and would love a life of luxury and ease. Ugly things will depress Sheep. They hate to displease anyone especially their loved ones. They will edge around an issue rather than take a firm stand. Difficulties are a delicate issue with Sheep. They are too sensitive and often overreact. Reassure them often. Romance is a part of the Sheep's being. Moonlight and roses, soft music and candlelight will get them every time. They tend to view the world through rose-colored glasses. Sheep do not usually have to work hard. Good things just happen naturally. They need bright, airy surroundings and excel in creative fields. Appreciation of their talents make Sheep glow, and with encouragement, they can go far in life.
Earth Goat
The Earth Goats are pretty conservative, yet happy personalities. Their happiness usually is contagious. They are not as confident personalities when compared to the Fire Goats but they are much grounded people who love their family. Their world revolves around their family; they love, protect and cherish their family life.

This could be a day filled with too much excitement and worry. Be careful of quarrels with your superior or coworkers over trivial matters. Try not to overreact to situations that could look worse than they are. You might be able to find comfort at home, so try having quality family time.
Asiaone.com
Your desire for good neighborliness will be thwarted; keep your head cool and avoid disputes. You’ll be prepared to give much of yourself in order to consolidate the sentimental ties which seem most important to you. Take a walk or do relaxation exercises every day.

Put a little distance between you and your family-in-law if you want to preserve your conjugal understanding; don’t leave it any possibility to interfere with your private life, otherwise you’ll have to cope with explosive situations. You’ll probably encounter big problems in the career domain; but you’ll rapidly recover your good judgment and your sharpness of mind. Don’t overrate your strength: rest will prove necessary; too great fatigue can provoke backaches and heart weaknesses.

In the Chinese solar calendar, Goat month is the seventh month and it is the last month of the summer season. In late summer, the earth energies are said to be at their strongest for the whole year. Goat month starts on the 7th July, on the day known as ‘Xiao Shu’, Lesser Heat. It just so happens this year, that there is also a full moon on the 7th. The new moon, marking the start of the sixth lunar month, is on 22nd July.
In the Northern hemisphere, July is often the hottest month and the mid-point of the solar Goat month on 23rd July is ‘Da Shu’, Greater Heat. Traditionally, Goat month is considered hot, hot, hot!
The hot dry earth of the Goat will mix with the cold wet earth of the Ox year when they come together in what is known as a clash. When we are selecting auspicious dates for weddings, opening new businesses or any other special occasion, we tend to avoid dates where the month clashes with the year. That does not necessarily mean that it will be an inauspicious month all round, it does rather depend on your individual Four Pillars chart. However, it would be wise to take extra care and pay more attention to making decisions, for all that extra earth energy can hinder clear thinking.
Like breaking open two covered clay pots by hitting them against each other, a clash such as the one between the Goat and the Ox can also uncover something that has been hidden. As well the strong earth in the Goat there is also some fire energy and wood energy which is released as a result of the clash. Will there be some secrets to be revealed or hidden treasure to be found during this Goat month?
In many places around the world, schools and universities start the summer break in July and all that extra earth energy around this year makes it a good time to take things easy and to slow down. Spending time outdoors and enjoying the sunshine is the order of the days during the summer holidays, which seems to suit the gentle Goat sign. So will Goat month bring you pleasant surprises, will you find out something you didn’t know or will taking it easy be just the right thing for you?

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
