Ash Fairy

The Ash Fairy is androgynous and ambiguous, carrying
great mysticism and power…making many connections
between this world and the Otherworld.
The ash Fairy understands that problems are rarely
solved on the level at which they were created.
They possessed indescribable knowledge, things we cannot
really know in our heads and can only reach through
expansion of consciousness.
The Ash may bring the gift of poetry, which has the
power to evoke ideas and associations that elude the
conscious mind. Ash is associated with communications of
all kinds.
The Ash Fairy teaches us balance, unity in diversity and
it takes an open mind and breadth of soul to travel to
the Otherworld.
Witches were believed to fly on ash-handled broomsticks
and Viking ships were made of ash.
The Goddess Nemesis carried an ash branch.

Ash Tree

The oak, the Ash and the thorn are the three great fairy
trees and it is here that the wild folk most often be
found and said to have special powers.
Fairies are closely connected to trees and either living
in the hollow trees or clearing. They are known also to
manifest as the spirits of the trees themselves
The Ash has healing properties and is found in many
fairy folk lore regarding this. It is said to be sacred
to the Druids. The ash made into wands can be used for
healing, general or solar magic
The ash speaks to us of growth, expansion, and higher
perspective. Although it is associated with the element
of air, the ash is also akin to the fire element for its
amazing burning qualities. The wood of the ash burns
with intense heat, even when green.
