How to create a visual field for seeing Nature Spirits, Angels and Spirit Guides

How to create a visual field for seeing nature spirits, Angels and spirits-guides
‘Some persons are born with the natural ability to see into the world of spirit. Others, like myself, need to develop this skill. If you follow these guidelines carefully, you may find yourself among the few that can experience the privilege of interacting with spiritual beings on all levels,’

The inner visual field can be explained as a ‘blank screen’ in our minds which we create for the purpose of displaying impressions and images. We all have the power of ‘imagery’, and can consciously form images in our minds. This faculty is related to our normal sense of ‘sight’, with which it shares certain areas of the brain. And can be developed by a series of exercises, leading to an enhanced inner visual field with which you can see fairies, angels and spirit-guides. However, you should always proceed slowly, as you will be opening up your mind to new experiences with which you may not be familiar. It is therefore recommended that when exercising or using this technique, you afford yourself the protection of prayer, dedication or the power of intention.

Preparation

I have personally found that for me, refraining from alcohol and meat for the 24 hours preceding any use of the visual field, is essential. In addition to this, one should endeavor to maintain an untroubled state of mind, free of tension or stress, in order for this exercise to be effective.

The exercises are initially to be performed with your eyes closed, to avoid distractions and to focus on forming the inner field of vision. The first step in this regard, is to be able to remove all thoughts and images from your mind for at least 20 seconds at a time. This may take many days of practice, but without a completely quiet mind, it is unlikely that you will achieve the clarity necessary for higher sight. Using your will-power to hold back or forcibly remove distracting thoughts, is not recommended, as this only creates a new set of inner tensions. The correct technique is merely to relax and let all thoughts pass gently in and out of your mind without giving them any attention and simply allow your thinking to slow down until your brain is just ‘ticking over’ without any real conscious activity taking place.

Second, you need to begin to develop your faculty of imagery using cut-out pictures and your short term-memory. In this regard, you should look for natural scenes or rooms with detailed furnishings. Once you have studied a particular photograph for a minute or two, close your eyes and attempt to recall the scene or room in as much detail as possible. You may begin with a two-dimensional (flat) view, but should later move on to a point where you can recall, visualise and rotate any object from a picture, in your mind in three dimensions. This exercise could take a few weeks or even months, but it provides the basic features and shapes from which your spirit-images will later be constructed.

The third step involves being able to reproduce an exact mental copy of any room in which you are presently sitting, including the furniture, carpeting and drapes in full colour, and try to hold this image for a least 20 seconds. By re-creating and visualising whole scenes in this way, you are programming your mind and setting up your inner visual field.

For work with elemental (nature) spirits, you should obviously conduct this exercise in natural surroundings such as a large garden or forest reserve. In the case of these entities it is essential to work with the utmost respect, as they can be quite temperamental.

At this point you still have full control of your re-created scene. The next step now involves consciously introducing something new into the scene. For instance, imagine a family member or person you know, coming into the room or walking down the path. Continue with this exercise until you can consciously introduce an image of any person or object to any scene you have created, and actually move him/her or the object around at will.

The next stage is very important. This is the part where you slowly begin to release active control of the scene until it sort of ‘floats’ lightly in your consciousness with minimal effort. This ‘effortlessness’ opens up the scene, which becomes your ‘inner visual field’. Remember, at this point, your eyes are still to be kept closed. After a few weeks of this ‘light control’, you may begin to sense something strange taking place in your visual field. Your first indication will probably be in the form of ‘cues’, such as spontaneously experiencing subtle feelings, impressions or sensations as you glance around in your visualised scene. Although you may not understand their meaning at first, you need to acknowledge that the new impressions are actually there, and not dismiss them as your imagination. The reason for this is that you are in the process of building up a relationship of trust with your subconscious mind, which is beginning to allow this information to enter your created visual field. And you will need to keep the ‘doors’ open and build on this initial relationship if you are to be trusted with deeper experiences. Remember that there are protective filters and mechanisms in your subconscious, which will only allow through higher experiences when it feels you are ready and willing to receive them. This willingness is expressed through your acknowledgement (and even gratitude) for what you are receiving. Continue with this exercise every day for at least a month. Later, with practice, you may begin to notice colours around some of the objects or people (if any are present) in your visualised scene of the room. The important lesson here is, as with the impressions, is that the colours are spontaneously appearing and that you not consciously creating them.

As you progress, you may later be amazed to see glimpses of transparent partial ‘images’ out of the corner of your eye, which once again, you did not consciously place in your scene. At first these may also appear to be only your imagination. One way of checking this, is to open your eyes for a brief moment and when you close them again, the image or impression is still there. Although it may be possible that some of these impressions or images are coming from your own subconscious, it is equally possible that they originate outside of your own mind.

At this point you need to understand that all images are formed by the ‘imaging’ faculty inside your own brain, that area which you have been exercising for the past few months. And what one person sees may differ from another, as each has his or her own framework of past experiences and beliefs which shape what is actually seen. You may also find it easier to see if you do not concentrate or look directly at the images. They are usually viewed best when your vision is relaxed and rests to the top left or right of the image.

As your skill develops, you will begin to sense or see in greater detail, until transparent outlines or features of persons begin to form. These are the angels or spirit-guides beginning to take form using the inner ‘screen’ you have created (your visualised scene). You may also be able to feel or sense messages emanating from these beings, usually in unspoken words or impressions. At first, your interpretation of the images and messages may be weak, but as you continue to acknowledge them (very important), your intuition and ability to see and understand them will improve.

Advanced ‘Seeing’

Once contact has been firmly established over a period of months, you can begin your attempts to view the figures with your eyes open. In order to develop the higher faculty of ‘seeing’ spiritual images with open eyes, the basic exercise as described previously, (the use of imagery with eyes closed) should be continued at first. However, as soon as you feel you are ready, you may begin to slowly half-open your eyes during the exercise, but almost immediately close them again. Do this a number of times. During each attempt, you should endeavor to maintain your focus on the spiritual images. This should be continued until it can be completed with ease. In doing this, you are merging your imaging faculty with your conscious field of vision. With time, the nature spirits, guides or angels will become more visible as they become ‘superimposed’ on your normal sight and you will be able to view them at will under the right conditions.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
