Dancing With Hecate

Dancing With Hecate

Gracious Maiden, will you guide us with your light?
My Hecate, holy lady of the night
We call out to thee of air earth and sea
Faces of three -- Hecate

Skin hair muscle and bone, maiden mother and crone
Water fire air stone maiden mother and crone
You are never alone maiden mother and crone
Looking at the unknown maiden mother and crone

Gentle mother bringing life up from the dawn
Fierce Hecate famous bringer of the storm
Your magick inside, powers abide
Our loved ones and friends, the dance never ends

Ever standing at the crossroads in my life
Amidst sacrifice and happiness and strife
We call out to thee of air earth and sea
Your faces are three -- Hecate

Lord of the Dance

Lord of the dance, Heart of the flame
Seen in a trance, We call out your name

Son husband and father to our triple Queen
It's an honor to meet you, to know what you mean

The Squire the Knight, bedecked and adorned
Danced with the Maiden as their bond was formed
In shining armor or sweat, paint and skin
Pleasure and fun, always striving to win

I next met the Father, a pearl without price
He knows of true love and he knows of sacrifice
Some battles he has lost, but the war he has won
Carries his burdens for his daughters and sons

The sage stood nearby, his staff in his hands
Looking backwards and forwards, reviewing his plans
A lifetime's experience, a head full of wisdom
You can learn at his feet, just sit still and listen to the

Lord of the dance, Heart of the flame
Seen in a trance, We call out your name

The Ram and the Lamb

Winter has gone away, away, snow dissolved in rain
Light and dark the same today, spring is here again
Time for the ram, time for the lamb
Time for the ram, time for the lamb

Maiden, garland in your hair, find the secret hidden
Mother, bring the child you bear into your heart unbidden
Time for the ram, time for the lamb
Time for the ram, time for the lamb

The Lady walks upon the earth escorted by her lord
Promises are kept in birth from tides the chalice poured
Time for the ram, time for the lamb
Time for the ram, time for the lamb

The wheel rolls ever onward breaking winter's hold
Now's the time for planting fields the furrows have been rolled
Time for the ram, time for the lamb
Time for the ram, time for the lamb

Wise woman smile upon us all engaged inside our folly
We shall reap what we have sown when oak gives way to holly
Time for the ram, time for the lamb
Time for the ram, time for the lamb

Winter has gone away, away, snow dissolved in rain
Light and dark the same today, spring is here again
Time for the ram, time for the lamb
Time for the ram, time for the lamb

Keep You In My Heart

I saw your body laid to rest, I knew you weren't there
You left this place some days before, a spirit in the air
Tonight we get together while you visit Summerland
We hope that we will meet again and then walk hand in hand

And we will tell your stories and we will sing your songs
And we will still remember you long after you are gone
For we have been together as we are now apart
And you are with me always since I keep you in my heart

I've known you just a little while, I've known you all my life
You brought me into this world, you comfort me in strife
You've been many things to many people, you've always played your parts
You travel now in Summerland, thought you're alive in all our hearts

And we will tell your stories and we will sing your songs
And we will still remember you long after you are gone
For we have been together as we are now apart
And you are with me always since I keep you in my heart

We miss you friend, child and lover, miss you sister miss you mother
(alternate lyrics:We miss you husband, son and brother, miss you father miss you lover)
We miss you so much now that you are gone, leaving all of us to carry on

And we will tell your stories and we will sing your songs
And we will still remember you long after you are gone
For we have been together as we are now apart
And you are with me always since I keep you in my heart

Full Moon Rising

Full moon rising, her pale light shines in the cloudless sky
Full moon rising, the stars are her children
Full moon rising, take my hand and walk with me
Full moon rising, where the earth is sweet

Take me down now, take me down
Her pale face watches us from above
Lay me down now, lay me down
The stars around her are our garland

Full moon rising, be with me forever stay with me tonight
Full moon rising, take the stars from the sky and put them in my eyes

Tuesday's Lament

Death has touched me. She is here
Standing at the shoulder of my friend
She is no more of this time and place
Now she travels with the Crone to the Summerland

Here I sit
Here I cry
And I wonder when Death will come for me

Death has touched me. Touched me in my heart
She has taken. She has taken away my friend
She has taken so many others before
But this time it is personal

Here I sit and write these words
And I wonder when Death will come for me

Death heas touched me. Just a passing glance
Leaving me here
Leaving me here warm and alive
Leaving me here to carry on without her
Leaving me here without my dear sweet friend

And I sit
And I cry
And I wonder
When Death will come for me

Uruk

Chant:
Brick by Brick, stone by stone, we build Uruk, it is our home

Chant:
Inanna, Inanna, child of the Moon God

Spoken:
On her smooth brow she paints fire beams and fearsome glint
Fastens carnelian, blood red and glowing around her throat
And then her hand clasps the seven-headed mace
Steps, yes, she steps her narrow foot on the furred back of a wild lapis lazuli bull
And she goes out, white sparked, radiant
In the dark vault of the evening sky
Star-steps in the street through the Gate of Wonder.

Chant:
I, Innanna, circling the sky, circling the Earth
I, the Lady, circling the sky, circling the Earth

The Ishtar Pomp

Chant:
Hail to Ishtar, Hail to Ishtar, Lady of the Largest Heart.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
