LorinGuild Apothecary®

Welcome to my adventure

I am in the process of creating this page with Many Thanks to the folks at Angelfire. I hope to be bringing you a complete on-line catalogue of those things which I have created.

I carry a line of oils, vinegars, incense, salts, and salves, as well as hand crafted occult tools. Liniments and tinctures are freely given as recipes, but I do have them made up for cost of labor, time, and shipping fees.

I will be offering this year woodcrafts for occult needs. Wands with and without crystals or woods are available already drilled for you to add your own crystal in one or both ends. I can specially craft or just send one to you. Or perhaps you will see me in the SouthEast at various events and gatherings. I would love to meet you.
I appreciate your patience as this is in the early stages of developement. I am still working on an online order form.

Oils, Salts, Flavors

Incense

Sticks and Stones

Wands, agate athames, Walking Sticks, Talking Sticks, Wackthuds and Shillelaghs, as well as rune carved sea polished stones.
All are hand made, and can be special ordered depending on preference of woods and stones. Certain woods are only harvested during the winter months, so availability can be limited. Please e-mail and ask for list of what's in stock.
Woods usually used.....
Birch, Oak, Willow, Cedar, Holly, Wild Cherry, Dogwood, and Maple. All are taken with due respect to the land and tree if not 'found' wood. Twisted woods (those that have grown with vines) are my specialty, but most are Sweet or Black Gum.

Vinegars

Vinegars are helpful during the hottest days of summer. As a splash on a hot day, they help pick up the slighest breeze, and leave a hint of playfulness. My vinegars are also edible. Feel free to use them on a fresh salad or as marinade. (more vinegar should be added as marinade) Use them as a rinse to clean the buildup from your hair. I personally use them when I am in the garden. Removes grime and sweat and leaves a fresh scent. After a day in the sun, use it to ease and soothe any minor burn.

Salves

Made with a base of Lanolin and Cocoa Butter. I offer an herbal Salve with plants from my gardens. Another is one with active constituents of Sulphur and Cayene Peppers that I use for joint and muscular flareups. *note: if you have an allergy to any grasses, flowers, or chemicals, please be advised that I am naming the most common allergic substances. These formulas are GRAS (generally regarded as safe). Reactions do happen in some people.

Prices

I m working on offering handdipped and votive Bayberry candles for the Yule/Holiday season. The wax will be harvested from my own trees and the wicking will be from a native plant to this area, which for generations has been used to alleviate respiratory problems. So even the worst asthmatic should be able to tolerate these candles being burned for the holidays.

Please feel free to contact me on any aspect of life. As many others that you will meet on the Net, I have an opinion as well.

Walk your talk,
And do what's due.
In the end of things, truth needs no defense.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
