Yin or Yang mesturation (Healthy mensturation for young women; naturally) by samantha van rijn trenerry

First for little biology lesson info (THis is for those of you who are intereste on knowing how all of this works):

The menstrual cycle can be broken down into two phases: the follicular
phase and the leutal phase. The follicular phase is marked by a gradual
buildup of estrogen, a hormone produced by the ovaries. Estrogen
affects the body as well as the emotions. It stimulates protein
synthesis and cell division and cell division. Vital capacity of the
lungs and sweat gland production are highest at this time of the cycle.
At the end of the follicular phase, estrogen levels peak and ovulation
occurs.

After ovulation, the leutal phase begins, Estrogen levels decline and progesterone levels increases. During this stage body
weight is increased and digestion becomes slow and sluggish (AHHH!!!
constipation!). Levels of the hormone aldesterone rise, which can
encourage water retention. The leutal physiological process's are slower,
weightier and damper than those of the follicular phase.

DO you have a Yin or Yang menstruation??? Most importantly how do you stay
balanced and feeling healthy through your menstruation???

The entire process fluctuates between yin and yang, the outward and inner
movements of our bodies, The stimulatory, outward directed effect of
estrogen is balanced by the depressive more inward directed progesterone.

YIN~ characteristic by dull achy cramps and a listless tired feeling. Yin imbalances can result from external cold and
chills or immediate stress. In this case blood tends to pool in the
core of the body to preserve warmth, often resulting in circulatory
congestion in the pelvic region. Common herbal treatments employ
diaphoretics to open up peripheral circulation and direct blood away
from the body's core. Alternating hot and cold foot baths will also
improve circulation in the pelvic region. To prevent yin menstrual
distress, avoid yin foods, such as refined sugar, and acidic fruits.
Also at this time eat more cooked vegetables then raw, also dress
warmly. If you are having yin problems the recommended diet is proteins,
grains and beans.

YANG~ characterized by restlessness, thirst or swollen or painful breasts and sharp cramps with abdominal
pain. pain is often worse with heat and touch. This often results from
excess protein in the diet. To prevent this type of distress eat more
vegetables, fruit, generally raw food and less animal protein
(substitute with nuts and seeds). Be sure that you are getting adequate
magnesium and calcium. Supplement your diet with cooling liver
cleansing herbs such as dandelion root, burdock root and red clover.

Another important thing is prior to and during menstruation you
calcium levels will drop. most people don't get enough calcium to begin
with. If you ate enough calcium did you know you would have little or
no cramps?? I add pure plant sourced calcium powder to my breakfast
food (oatmeal ect) when I am in need of calcium or add it to a homemade
hot chocolate (who doesn't like chocolate on their period, the reason
being because it is rich in magnesium). Always treat your liver first,
and drink lots of water,

Liver tonic Formula for menstruation

Can be prepared as a deco-ct or a tea. If you are preparing it as a tea you
may want to add some stevia and take 3 times daily. Or if prepared as a
tincture take half a teaspoon two or three times daily.

2 parts burdock root

2 parts dandelion root

2 part sassafras (for flavor)

1 part chaste tree berry

1 part licorice root

1/4 part ginger

High calcium tea for menstruation

This variation of high calcium tea is designed especially for preventing
menstrual cramps. Penny-royal is excellent for relieving uterine
congestion and helping promote menstruation. Raspberry is a wonderful
tonic for the reproductive system and peppermint gives it a nice flavor. some people like to put in rose petals for beauty and flavor.

2 parts nettle

2 parts oat straw

2 parts penny-royal leaf

1 part horsetail

1 part peppermint

1 part raspberry leaf.

prepare as an infusion, use 1 teaspoon per cup of water for 15 to 20 minutes.
Use 3 to 4 cups daily ten days prior to your regular menstruation. Not:
never use the oil of penny-royal for internal purposes (highly toxic).

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
