So today we are going to talk about the TONKA BEAN, which is among the most important beans used in hoodoo practices regarding love wishing. Tonka beans are also known as Love Beans, are widely said to have the power to make romantic dreams come true. Like African Mojo Beans (also known as Wishing Beans), Tonka beans are often carried in a red flannel conjure bag, but unlike Mojo Beans, they are used specifically for obtaining luck in love matters. That is very important to remember.

Folks also have said that an odd number of love-wishes and for each wish, place one sweetly scented tonka bean in your pocket. Carry them this way for 7 days, and at dawn on the 7th day, go to running water, call out your wishes and throw the tonka bean in the water over your left shoulder. Walk away, don't look back, and in seven days, your wishes will come true.

Tonka beans should be never crushed, but should remain whole. They should always come in an unevened pair of numbers, because it can be very unlucky otherwise.

Tonka beans often smell like vanilla and so in love drawing curios. some people add vanilla (although a love herb itself) without the proper knowledge that its the tonka bean that adds this scent. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER AND I MEAN NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER CRUSH A TONKA BEAN!!!!

Wicca stresses on aspects of grinding up roots and herbs, hoodoo does not. Mandrake root, Solomon Seal, Angelica root and other roots should never be ground unless specified and directed for that particular spell, but the tonka bean and the Mojo bean should never be crushed. THIS IS BAD LUCK! Try it out yourself. Come on, I dare you. You'll see.

So back to the tonka bean. The tonka bean is one of my favorites to use in ANY love spell and I strongly recommend incorporating them for love spells using mojo bags, poppets, oil making and so forth revolving around the interest of love spells. I almost guarantee you great success using them.

How to work the tonka bean really does depend on what you wish to accomplish, but here is how you FIX a tonka bean without any powders, oils and so forth.

To work with a tonka bean all's you do is whisper your intention to it and than blow on it. That's it. Simple.

Sometimes they are dressed with appropriate oils such as Follow Me Boy, or Kiss Me Quick, or even Head Over Heels! oil and powders. This is fine. Mineral powders shouldn't be used on tonka beans, this can be bad luck depending on the mineral powder such as led. This isn't a nutmeg charm.

Tonka beans can also have honey poured on them to help "sweeten" your cause or put it into your favor, or to cool down any anger, frustration and bad relationships with that person.

There is an old saying among rootworkers: "Put some honey on those words baby."

Tonka beans are only for love spells, anyone who tells you otherwise really don't know their roots. Its the Mojo bean that is your wish making for general purposes, the tonka only for love. Got it? Good :)

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
