Charging a Rose Amulet for Samhain or Beltane

With Samhain/Halloween approaching, and many call upon our ancestors at this time of year, this might be a good time for you to make and charge a Rose Amulet.

Our ancient Brothers and Sisters wore a different amulet or talisman for each day of the week. They were called the amulets or the talismans of the magi, the chaldean sciences.

A rose amulet to attract the energies of all the Sisters of the Rose, all the
Rose people who have left this side of the veil, and are there just waiting for you to ask for their assistance. This amulet to attain the energies of all the living Sisters and Brothers of the Rose, the women and men of this universe who used and believed in powerful and deep magic , prayer life and energy work. The energy of those who will also use this most powerful symbol.

An amulet is made during the waning moon. Now, what shall you make? I can hear the question all the way over here. You may want a silk rose charged to attach to your wand, or attach it to a hair clip to wear during all your rituals, meditations or prayers during the next year. You may have a rose charm, necklace or ring. You can even take a picture of a rose, laminate it, and decorate the outside with a ribbon or charm of a rose. There are many possibilities to this. Need more help thinking of something? Just ask.

After you have decided on what your amulet is going to be, it will need to be cleansed and charged. Don't be afraid if you have never done this before. I will try to make this very simple, and if you have done this before you will know what you will add yourself to this.

Gather the ritual items

Read this through and then gather together the items you will need for the ritual, including your Amulet.

Prepare you space

Prepare the area your altar, or a table, that you will use with a cloth, a gold or yellow candle to signify your male Deity and a white candle to signify your female Deity (or brown or green to honor Mother Earth). You should remember the male/female balance in all natural things.

Prepare an incense holder with appropriate incense. Of course rose incense is a good choice, also is lavender because of it's powers of purification is always suitable for this ceremony. You can use stick or cone incense.

A bowl of water, and yes you can use holy water (possibly add rose petals), and a small bowl of salt for cleansing. You can also use a bell or chimes if you wish. The sweet sound of a bell or chime calls upon the Elements, awakens the spirit and cleanses the area of negativity.

Did you remember to put your amulet on this table/altar?

Purifying your space

Begin your ritual by quieting your mind and concentrate on your goals. Sprinkle a little of the salt into your water dish and stir a few times with your finger or Athame in a clockwise direction.

Sprinkle a little water with your fingers or Athame in each corner to purify
your circle or your space. Your circle/space can be room size or it can be the size of a serving tray. As always, it is the intent that matters. Come back to your altar/table and light the incense. Pick up your incense and walk around your table/altar if possible. If not, pick up the incense and over your area make a circle.

As you do these things, using whatever words you want, make the statement that no harmful entities or energy will come into your space.

Doing the work

Face your altar and light your altar candles. Light the male Deity candle and ask that He attend your ceremony (you can sound the bell or chime three times here). Then light the female Deity candle and do the same, using the name that you choose and sounding the bell if you want.

Sprinkle the Amulet with salt.

Say:

"I consecrate you with the (element of Earth, or Archangel Michael)."

Pass the Amulet through the incense.

Say:

"I consecrate you with the (element of Air or Archangel Raphael)."

Pass the Amulet through candle flame.

Say:

"I consecrate you with the (element of Fire or Archangel Uriel )."

Sprinkle the Amulet with water.

Say:

"I consecrate you with the (element of Water or Archangel Gabriel)."

Pick up the Amulet, and hold it up high for Our Lord and Lady to behold.

Say:

I charge this amulet in the name of our ancient Sisters and Brothers of the
Rose, the Ancient ones who have gone before us, and those that are in the Rose light with us now. I charge this amulet to Our Blessed Lord and Lady, and the Sun and the Moon and the Stars. By the powers of the Earth, of Air, of Fire and of Water, by the powers of the angels and Archangels, I banish the energies of any previous owners, and make this amulet new and fresh. I consecrate this amulet here and now, and it is mine!

Place Amulet back on altar/table and wrap it in cloth. Place hands over the Amulet. Visualize a Brilliant Rose light from above pouring into the Amulet.

Some people like to chant, others dance; I prefer to sit and meditate over my work and send as much energy as possible into the consecrated item. Do this as long as you feel necessary.

At this time you may wish to have a poem a prayer or a special incantation to close your ceremony.

I have enclosed a couple if you wish.

Our Mother, you are everywhere, hallowed be your many names. Your fullness come, your desires be known in our lives as they are in your heart. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us when we cause harm, as we forgive those who injure us. Urge us toward greater wisdom and compassion, and deliver us from false thoughts and desires. For the heart, the whole, and the radiance of life are yours, and ours, now and forever.

BENEDICTION IN THE GARDEN

Fill me,
Sweet Lady, drop by drop, as rain,
I lift up my hands and my heart,
Like the leaves of the flowers,
The branches of reaching trees,
Alive with thewinds of desire,
To know you, to touch you, to feel you,
To sing aloud with birds in flight,
Awash in the wonder of Your nature,
Overwhelmed in the glory, the beauty,
Rushing as a mountain stream,
Cascading over rocky falls of tempest,
Light me with the fireworks of storm,
Roll the thunder of awakening Across my senses, my mind, my being, The colors of life flow forth,
I taste the music of abundance,
Full to overflowing I have become,
Dripping with the sweetness of
Your love, A rose on the banyan of life.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
