Profile Information

Tell us of your likes and dislikes. Music? Tv/Movies? Books? What do you like to do in your spare time?
I'm a major movie buff and a book worm. I also love nature and I like to be outside hiking or otherwise exploring. I love the mountains, and I have always felt a connection to them. I am in touch with my natural side. :) I love to write as well, and I have been told I have a wonderful way with words. Although I am not a professional, I do keep a journal, and I have compiled a cookbook for an organization I used to belong to. Currently I am doing another one for personal use as well as creating a personal Grimoire.
Are you currently living what may be considered an alternative lifestyle? For example, are you a traveling artist, practicing a non-mainstream spirituality, or part of a BDFSM lifestyle?
I have always felt a connection to spirits, both past and present, and this led me to Paganism. For the last five years I have studied a variety of different nature-based paths, finally settling on Hedgecraft with Stregherian influences. I don't like to be restricted to just one thing, because life in general is eclectic--we're all kind of a mish-mash in all that we do and I believe spirituality should work the same way. We naturally pull a variety of beliefs from our past experiences and incorporate them into the present--I think this should be encouraged.
What does the older knowledge of legend, myth, lore, story, tale, wisdoms mean to you?
Legend, myth, lore, story, and tale are all interconnected, and I believe them to be essentially ancestral personal life experiences, and wisdom is found embedded in these personal experiences of the past. I believe that, even in fiction there is an element of truth, so these can also be learned from.
Do you belong to any organizations; re-enactment based (i.e. households, tribes, clans), spiritual based (i.e. covens, orders, or other pagan groups) or other? If so which ones and where?
Currently, I am taking an online class on Stregheria, which is Italian Witchcraft. I am also a member of New Order of Druids, as well as belonging to a local Pagan group in my area that meets for coffee every Sunday afternoon.
If not of the older life styles, how tolerant are you ?
I consider myself to be very tolerant. I believe people should not be judged or criticized for any reason unless they request an opinion.
Have you ever been to a Renaissance Faire or Medieval Fest? If so, which did you prefer? If not, which would you rather attend? Would you rather be a participant or spectator? Please relate to us your experience!
I attended a Renaissance Faire a long time ago at the age of 17 and I loved it! The period costumes were beautiful and the demonstrations on jousting and swordsmanship were amazing. If I ever get the chance, I would love to go to another one.
Do you have any artistry, crafting, and trade… what do you create, Please share your talents with us.
I'm not very artistically talented, but I do my best. I can sew, and I have been making a patchwork quilt. I have only put the squares together so far, as I don't know how to start the actual quilting process yet, but I am excited to learn! Future projects in the works include a spiritual patchwork, as well as an altar cloth and a few other smaller sewing projects--however, this is on hold until my sewing machine finds its way home (I'm an immigrant-in-process and cannot bring any of my household items into Canada yet). I'm also learning to make homemade household items--although I'm not sure if this qualifies as crafty. So far these are just for personal use, but I have thought about turning it into something more.
What is the best way to contact you if your talents are skills are desired?
Email would probably be the best way, as I am on the computer pretty much constantly throughout the day.
Please answer all questions honestly and openly so staff and members can get to know you. Approval of your application will be based upon your answers. Any thing else you would like to tell people?
Spirituality in general is one of my passions. I love to learn about not just my own, but others as well. I am particularly interested in anything related to nature. I have explored Druidry, Shamanism, Wicca, Asatru, Greek, Roman, Stregheria, and now Hedgecraft. I am also interested in looking at Buddhism and Hinduism in the near future.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
