For years since I was 18 years old I suffered with migraine headaches. Mine were so severe that I got chills, vomiting, visual disturbances and fever at times. The pain was agony to say the least. I couldn't lift my head. I went to many doctors, clinics, specialists, etc. I had my head xrayed, MRI, Cat Scan and was on every medicine known to man except for the controlled substances which in this country you have to be almost near death to get.
I met an Herbalist woman by the name of Old Soul. I explained to her about my severe migraines. She then urged me to get lemon balm in a tincture form and try it. I was very skeptical as I had tried everything on this earth including Fever Few which did work I might add but it is so expensive that I couldn't afford it for the number of migraines I was experiencing and it wasn't available in prescription where the insurance company could pay some of it and that would have been a great help. So Old Soul convinced me to at least give it a try and if it didn't work I could use the left over lemon balm for cooking/baking and therefore it wouldn't be wasted.
Down to the herbal store I went, bought the lemon balm tincture, came home and tried it. As bitter as it is I just didn't care as I was in desperation for something to work. I mean it is so bitter that it turns you right into a sour puss! Oh and within a day or so I got the best relief of my life. It was amazing, just out of this world. I was so exhauberant and in total disbelief for the migraines have gone somewhere, whereabouts unknown, but they are gladly not in my world any longer. When I reported this to Old Soul she informed me that it softens the nerves in the head and for some it takes hold right away. Now this was almost 10 years ago. I had one since and that was early fall of 2009. Now that is outstanding. It only goes to show you that herbs and minerals do work for some and we all know on others they do not, just like medicines.
This is what Old Soul said to do with the doses of the tincture: Use about a teaspoon full in any liquid and drink down. Take this twice a day for about a week. Drop down to once a day for about a week. Then take the tincture every other day for about a week. After that twice a week then possibly once a week just to keep it running in your system. I took this order for about a month. Because my migraines stopped immediately I didn't have to prolong the doses. If someone is trying the tincture and you get a migraine then step the doses of the tincture up to your own disgretion until the migraines stop. I used the tincture once a week after tapering down and I did this for about a year. I dont' have to now at all. I keep a bottle here just in case as I did last fall when I felt the first few twinges I ran for it and it blocked it immediately.
Lemon Balm in tincture form costs about $17.00 and lasted me for about 6 months. Another thing I might add about lemon balm is it is great on acid reflux. It neutralizes the acid, how good is this. And another side effect is something extraordinary. Lemon balm makes you feel younger.......how about that! I really didn't believe this when Old Soul told me but I experienced it right along with the other fixes. You don't look younger you just feel younger. I know it sounds funny but it happened to me so I know it is a true effect.
Lemon balm in tincture form is the only kind of lemon balm Old Soul recomended. It has some different effects as it is a liquid that goes right into your system. She didn't recomend any other form whatsoever.
Another thing I noted it tastes like a household cleaning agent. It will make one shudder! After awhile I got to the point that I got use to the shocking taste. I could put it in anything and it would be less and less of a shock and shudder. Therefore I just dropped it on my tongue with a dropper and it was all done and fine.
Old Soul was so pleased that she helped me with these agonizing migraines and I was so extremely pleased that I met her and listened to her and tried the lemon balm and it worked. I thanked her over again and will always have her in my prayers.

I am wondering how to take this since my migraines and cluster headaches are so infrequent any more - would I take as prescribed or just start out with the once a week? Yes I do have acid reflux too - hummmmmmmmmmmm - am wondering if the two go hand in hand - that too is a thought

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
