Profile Information

Tell us of your likes and dislikes. Music? Tv/Movies? Books? What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to read, draw, paint, and work with stones. I also write poetry, prose, and lettres. I have gotten rid of tv, it was more and more disturbing to my spirit. Favorite books, many and more: Sci fi, History, Art, Poetry. Literature. Spare time? Please add my dog,Sadie, my two catfolk:Duncan and Bella and see above. Learning and being in positive (often Natural ) environments are important to me. Walking my journey, aware, is important to me. Helping to save old places (includes wetlands and corner weed gardens) is important to me. Devoting my talents and joys to better the World and working to find positive means to face the future (including the revival of some olde ways) is important to me. I am intolerant of those who would be dishonest, force their ideas on others, take something away from the whole and not replace it. I dislike those who would complain and require change but refuse to work for it. I am turned away by folk who are intolerant of other peoples, their religions, their ways of being, as long as they live without malice...Of music, I love many types and styles from different times and places...Haven't seen a Movie in a long time.
Are you currently living what may be considered an alternative lifestyle? For example, are you a traveling artist, practicing a non-mainstream spirituality, or part of a BDFSM lifestyle?
Currently I live on the edge of a very small town, where the rivers and cornfields begin. I live with my Companion Animals. I am in a situation where I can put most of my energy into healing, growing and working on my arts. Given the means, I would travel much more, camp often, take many pictures and notes. My life is simple now and as free of Chaos as I can make it. That does not mean it is over, not by any means. As far as alternative lifestyle, it is one that does not join in the general worship of monetary wealth that my society encourages. I am extremely wealthy in Joy and Love and Gratitude.
What does the older knowledge of legend, myth, lore, story, tale, wisdoms mean to you?
It is the foundation of most of what I am. Without knowledge of the "fore", the "now" is incomprehensible. In my blood, runs the blood of Celt and Indian. To sit and listen to an olde one tell stories, is a Joy. To learn or to feel the growth of Wisdom, is Life.
Do you belong to any organizations; re-enactment based (i.e. households, tribes, clans), spiritual based (i.e. covens, orders, or other pagan groups) or other? If so which ones and where?
No,I am a "singular". When I lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan, my daughter's interest in things olde drew me to SCA.
If not of the older life styles, how tolerant are you ?
As long as Malice, Bitterness, Evil Darkness is not raised, as long as there exists not intent to harm or control another, as long as other respect my openness and acceptance of all peoples, all faiths, all societies (as long as they are not ruled by ignorance or fear), I am tolerant of all.
Have you ever been to a Renaissance Faire or Medieval Fest? If so, which did you prefer? If not, which would you rather attend? Would you rather be a participant or spectator? Please relate to us your experience!
I have been to both. The one I most clearly recall would be the Silver Leafe Renaissance Faire, held in Kalamazoo, Michigan. As far as being a participant of spectator, it depends, there are good aspects to both. And I have also found that one may enter as a spectator and be easily drawn into the role of participant.
Do you have any artistry, crafting, and trade… what do you create, Please share your talents with us.
I am truly inspired by those who would pursue their passion. I am an artist, in many media. I love to work with my hands and restore old things, like furniture of saddles. I love to play with wit and words. I also take many pictures. I feel a passion to make record of small things,or things that are disapeering, and sometimes things not easily "seen" by others. I am currently working with what would appear to be ordinary stones, drawing the under magnification and as one, on a summer's day, may see pictures in the clouds, find pictures and old life in the stones.
What is the best way to contact you if your talents are skills are desired?
I can be contacted thru the e-mail address: csbell.2440@yahoo.com
Please answer all questions honestly and openly so staff and members can get to know you. Approval of your application will be based upon your answers. Any thing else you would like to tell people?
A review and evaluation of myself? Goodness. I have, for a variety of reasons had a difficult life. This has forced me to a truer appreciation of simple joys, like the smell of lilac or the coolness on entering a wood. I work very hard at learning and living beyond my past. I do receive therapy and support as I am responsible for being able to do the best that I can. I love to be around people and friends and I am happy when alone. I am, my daughter says, a very sensestive, person, empathetic and compassionate. I will not allow my past to define me. I am gifted in the Arts and have finally gotten to a point in my life where I can and able to produce work. While I do not practice dark arts, I am aware of them and see auras. I do not so much practice pagan arts as much as find myself living them, if that makes sense? I do worship the God/Goddess manifest in all. Complex and simple, loyal and honest. My faults would lie in the negative aspects of those gifts. Any more..it a tale for another time. (Cannot get pic to load, need recent pic of me anyway!)

Was startled to find a pic that I thought I had failed to bring out, reproduced here! And tis good enough for me...

In This Silent Hour T'ween Night and Dawn...

Greetings and well met. I would like to thank all who gave me a moment of time to send me greetings on the event of my mortal birth. Tis a wonderful feeling I have received from you  (and I  do so hope all will see these words-if someone could let me know that indeed they were received it would be appreciated.  On the other hand, if these letters are not given to those intended..I will let you know of my gratitude in some way).

Today was a day rich in Gifts of considerations…

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries had its humble beginnings as an idea of a few artisans and craftsmen who enjoy performing with live steel fighting. As well as a patchwork quilt tent canvas. Most had prior military experience hence the name.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries.

Vendertainers that brought many things to a show and are know for helping out where ever they can.

As well as being a place where the older hand made items could be found made by them and enjoyed by all.

We expanded over the years to become well known at what we do. Now we represent over 100 artisans and craftsman that are well known in their venues and some just starting out. Some of their works have been premiered in TV, stage and movies on a regular basis.

Specializing in Medieval, Goth , Stage Film, BDFSM and Practitioner.

Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries a Dept of, Ask For IT was started by artists and former military veterans, and sword fighters, representing over 100 artisans, one who made his living traveling from fair to festival vending medieval wares. The majority of his customers are re-enactors, SCAdians and the like, looking to build their kit with period clothing, feast gear, adornments, etc.

Likewise, it is typical for these history-lovers to peruse the tent (aka mobile store front) and, upon finding something that pleases the eye, ask "Is this period?"

A deceitful query!! This is not a yes or no question. One must have a damn good understanding of European history (at least) from the fall of Rome to the mid-1600's to properly answer. Taking into account, also, the culture in which the querent is dressed is vitally important. You see, though it may be well within medieval period, it would be strange to see a Viking wearing a Caftan...or is it?

After a festival's time of answering weighty questions such as these, I'd sleep like a log! Only a mad man could possibly remember the place and time for each piece of kitchen ware, weaponry, cloth, and chain within a span of 1,000 years!! Surely there must be an easier way, a place where he could post all this knowledge...

Traveling Within The World is meant to be such a place. A place for all of these artists to keep in touch and directly interact with their fellow geeks and re-enactment hobbyists, their clientele.
